No. Alex Smith is pretty damn good. If RB's made QB's great then Minnesota should've been a powerhouse for the last ten years.
AP is a different type of back though. Charles/McCoy/Forte etc all make their QB's better cause they offer the checkdown option. On the stat sheet that goes as a 30 yard TD pass for Smith. That fair?
I would say it's fair cuz it was a good quick decision forward pass to the wide open guy, as opposed to a screen dump off where the back was breaking ankles and shedding tackles. And the Cheifs WR corp is crap. Smith is making the pass game work with basically just running backs and tight ends, that's commendable.
