I barely give a shit. I'm a grown man. I have no influence over the Jets nor any responsibility for or affect on their performance. I'd prefer that they be successful, because as a fan its more fun when your team is good, which the Jets most certainly aren't most of the time I've been following them. But it won't change my life one way or the other if they win or lose. I'm certainly not financing any stupid fucking billboards. I live in northern New England. Sports fans around here are kind of pathetic the way they project the Patriots' success as a reflection of core yankee values of thrift, hard work, brains and, you know, showing those colored mules what it takes to succeed. I have more self esteem and just a big enough dick not to take the Jets that seriously.
I'm pretty sure none of us oldtimers live and die with this team anymore Dierk. We all know where the Jets stand in the big picture of life and just like you, if the Jets win, lose, keep Rex, fire Rex, clean house or stand pat, our individual lives will go on unaffected.
