That's my point. Tannenbaum didn't value them highly, which is why we see a lack of quality depth on our roster right now.
In one regard, I hope we aren't Seattle East. That's their cap situation. I don't see any way they're going to be able to hold their core team together over the next 3-4 years. An ESPN video prompted me to do some research. Russell Wilson, Kam Chancellor, Richard Sherman, Percy Harvin, Golden Tate and Earl Thomas are all 25. Of that group, only Harvin is on his second contract. According to Over the Cap.com, Seattle is presently at $126,036,440 and has $907,367 in dead money over and above that, and are one of the teams in the most cap trouble. Their 2014 (present) FAs are as follows: UFAs - Bolding indicates starter, italics indicates a top backup or players who saw a lot of action in 2013 Golden Tate - WR Michael Bennett - LDE Breno Giacomini - Paul McQuistan -LG O'Brien Schofield - LOLB Tony McDaniel - DT Chris Maragos - FS Tarvaris Jackson - QB Steven Hauschka - K Brandon Browner - CB Kellen Davis - TE Jason Spitz - ? Not listed on their roster or depth chart Clinton McDonald - RDT Walter Thurmond - CB Anthony McCoy - TE RFAs Doug Baldwin - WR Jeron Johnson - SS Lemuel Jeanpierre - LG Michael Morgan - ROLB Exclusive Rights Kyle Nelson It really hits them hard following the 2014 season. Their 2015 FAs are as follows: - Includes both RDEs & 3/4 of their starting DBs. UFAs Richard Sherman - LCB Earl Thomas - FS Chris Clemons - RDE Cliff Avril - RDE James Carpenter - LG Heath Farwell - MLB Michael Robinson - FB Clint Gresham - LS KJ Wright - MLB, ROLB Byron Maxwell - RCB Malcolm Smith - ROLB RFAs Jermaine Kearse - WR Exclusive Rights Ricardo Lockette - WR Deshawn Shead - SS Bryan Walters - WR 2016 FAs: - All three LTs are FAs. UFAs Russell Wilson - QB Marshawn Lynch - RB Russell Okung - LT Sidney Rice - WR Zach Miller - TE/LS Brandon Mebane - RDT Bruce Irvin - LOLB Jon Ryan - P/H Bobby Wagner - MLB Robert Turbin - RB Jeremy Lane - RCB J.R. Sweezy - RG Greg Scruggs - DE RFAs Kenneth Boatright - DE Alvin Bailey - LT Benson Mayowa - RDE Caylin Hauptmann - LT Derrick Coleman - RB Chandler Fenner - CB Korey Toomer - LB So over the next 3 seasons, they will have 21 starters and 14 of their top backups become FAs. There's no way they'll probably be able to re-sign even half of these players.
more like the raiders of the east everyone hates us and we keep losing. def not as bad in recent years but we have a bad rep and its easy to make fun of us
All the media love to bash on the Jets for obvious reasons, one thing you can say about Jets fans is they are dedicated definitely no bandwagon fans!
after watching this years team play, we deserve every bit of bashing we could get. this includes us fans who ACTUALLY WERE EXCITED FOR THE SEASON TO START WITH IZDICKS MOVES seriously we thought dee millner could be a good cb and was content on that group. we were fooled by ryans cheerleading. we thought geno could take the next step. we were allllll fooled. we thought chris johnson + ivory would rule the field. the only good moves the jets made this year was to get percey harvin. hopefully dude is a keeper, but i'm still worried about his injury problems especially if he's going to be used more in our offense. really dont want to resign him at 10 mil and then he gets injured. thats our next gm's call.
