so one freaking win after a 8 gane lossing streak is to sign vick who is the savior after having a 130 yard freaking game or signing sanchez back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why do some players go higher in the draft than others? Have fun with the answer, because I have bettter things to do than repeat my attempts to make you understand the obvious.
haha im sorry bro!!!...in all honetly all i saw was "sign sanchez to a simular deal" and i had read enough,,, in all seriousness... i just cant beleive this is were we are at now... were 2-8... our qb threw for 132 yards.. and were accepting this a good enough to go all in next year? last week we wanted to fire everyone, draft 10 qbs and sign 3 f/a qbs... but us jet fans are giddy over a days worth of 132 yards that equal 2 drives for most qbs.. god!
Haven't see a lot of Mannion so I won't comment on him but Hogan I will. While he has a lot of attractive traits (size, arm, mobility…etc.) you want in a QB, his throwing mechanics from top to bottom is a train wreck. Below is a Grantland article discussing his mechanics. They think it can be fixed; I don't see how. He's a sack fumble waiting to happen on almost every drop back IMO, DEs should be able to just reach out and grab his arm even when blocked. http://grantland.com/the-triangle/qb-curve-kevin-hogan-stanford-cardinal/ QB Curve rarely devolves into a discussion of mechanics, but my lord, Hogan’s throwing motion is truly a marvel of inefficiency. Even as a third-year starter, his default setting is a big, elongated windup that makes Tim Tebow’s infamous release look crisp by comparison. (Other handy comparisons include a windmill and a trebuchet.) Hogan is considered a viable pro prospect in 2016, meaning that (a) scouts think his motion can be fixed, or (b) they haven’t looked at him very closely beyond his NFL-ready frame.
Thank you thank you thank you for admitting you are wrong. First of all, this discussion STARTED because of Cooper as you've been a proponent of drafting Cooper since the get-go. At the expense of drafting Mariota because...you don't like him. And you have invented reasons for your dislike, some of which are defensible (even though they are wrong) and some which are not. The "raw" dig being indefensible. 2 of those 3 items have nothing to do with "raw" and have everything to do with your perception that he can NOT do something because he has not been asked to do it--and not because he is bad at it or can't do it. He has never displayed an ability to take snaps from center because he has never been asked to do it. He is not required to go through progressions (which I disagree with) because his offense is such a well polished machine (Read: NOT RAW) that he doesn't NEED to go to his 3rd or 4th read--which however he has done many a time. As you even admitted, the job of his coach is to win games, not get him ready for the NFL. You're third point about him being an "inept" pocket passer is just you making shit up because you don't want him--he is not inept at any throw he makes. He STARTS in a pocket, he's just not dropping back into one. "Raw" is a totally undefined, immeasurable, made up, highly subjective criticism that it defies discussion. Talk about him not playing from under center or no experience in drop backs or fumbles. But he is the least "raw" QB in college today. Will he need to transition? Absolutely. EVERY QB needs to transition to the speed and defenses of the NFL and he'll have to work on center snaps and drops. He's not "raw". _
When you gonna stop bringing Cooper into the discussion? You sound worse as this goes on. Mariota = raw QB prospect for the reasons I listed previous. I'm not wrong. Great athlete, good passer, lacks fundamentals. He is raw in terms of those particular things I listed, there is work to be done - he has only scratched the surface. LMAO @ me making things up holy fuck you are delusional. Mariota's transition will be a far longer road then Winston. If not for Winston being an idiot he would be the top QB in the draft. RAW PROSPECT GET OVER IT. "Wahhh, I don't like Mariota therefore I'm talking him down" - Get the fuck outta here with that childish bullshit
His mechanic and footwork was indeed the reason I was not so convinced with him at the get-go. [My preference would have been Mannion at 3rd or 4th, but not higher.] He needs to sit and correct the fundamental portion of it first and foremost; thus inserting him at starting position within 2 years is not such a sensible idea in fact.

That is the very definition of what I am talking about. Get over yourself. Matter of fact, let's trade our ENTIRE draft for an unpolished passer. Yep.
You're definition of "raw" is what's childish. And yeah, this all started because you want Cooper over Mariota, which is fine. You don't need to make up bullshit reasons. And you think Winston steps right in as a finished product because he destroys Syracuse and Wake Forest? You think FSU is undefeated year in and year out because of Winston? POLISHED PROSPECT WILL NEED TRANSITION TIME GET OVER IT. _
Good article. Thank you: "A frequent comparison for him is Colin Kaepernick, but Mariota is a more polished passer than he's given credit for and has a strong enough arm to make all the throws." _
There you go again, talking about Cooper lol - Mariota is not polished and those reasons I listed above are the reasons. Winston has some great talent and has a lot of skills that can make him a great QB at the next level, but that kid is immature as they come. He's in that Ryan Leaf / Jamarcus Russell category. Those QBs however were extremely talented you cannot deny that. The kid is a winner though - FL State is a stacked team, so I do think that plays a role. Winston will be able to start week 1 when he gets to the NFL - wherever he has success or not is entirely up to him. This still doesn't change the fact that Mariota is a raw QB prospect with great talent. Saying he's a more polished passer then a QB with absolutely 0 touch is not really saying much. I'm not a fan of Kaepernick and his ability to make plays in the pocket.
Mariota is a good kid and is very intelligent, and for that I would easily rather draft him then Winston. If I didn't like Mariota as you say, I wouldn't support Mariota to the point where I wouldn't mind the Jets drafting him at the top pick.
LOL--you quoted an article saying he was an unpolished passer like Kaep and yet the very same article said he was MORE polished. I didn't choose that comparison, Kaep's throwing looks 1000x worse than Mariota--slower release, weird delivery, can only throw fastballs. To put them in the same sentence is just stupid. They are being compared because of their size and running ability--Mariota is the far superior passer. Mariota is one of the most polished QBs in college today and to call him "raw" again is monumentally subjective, immeasurable and meaningless. That he may need a transition to the pros does not make him "raw", it makes him specifically unexperienced in one aspect of the position. "Raw" is a guy who's played very little, or played very weak competition, that is going to need YEARS to get pro-ready. I don't want Winston and I don't want Mariota playing right away but he'll be right there ready to play when Winston is. But you can want Cooper, that's ok. _
