I know it's only been 6 quarters of football + a training camp, but what's clear right now is that the Jets dumping Sanchez was a huge mistake. He had shown improvement throughout 2009 - 2011, and then in 2012 he was wrongfully blamed for the teams problems when in reality, the team just had awful talent around him. His main receivers beyond Kerley most of the year were Hill, Shillens, and Gates, all of which are not even playing in the league anymore. If you ask me, I say the Jets should try to bring him back in under a completely new coaching staff. With Decker, Harvin, Kerley, Amaro, and Ivory, he would have more talent then he ever had with the Jets, and with another solid draft pick or signing could have close to the same talent the Eagles have.
Even through only one full game he proved 2 things to me yesterday. 1. He moves extremely well in the pocket still and knows when he needs to move up or get away. He did this better in one game then Geno had for the last 2 years. 2. He's better then Vick or Geno. He just is. He gets the ball. Makes his reads. Moves in the Pocket. Throws the ball. He's almost always good for some interceptions but that is because his biggest weakness is his inconsistent accuracy. There are times when he sees the open guy and for whatever reason throws it behind them or wherever. He's still better then what we have now though.
Mods what? It's a fair question. Sanchez will be a free agent again after this year, and the Jets have a ton of money to spend.
He's not coming back. Can we move on? I see no reason for a player to return BACK to a toxic environment to revive his career.
its typical Jets fan syndrome can't handle seeing a ex player flourish with a new team an except the fact they were wrong, these same fans were doing the same when Pennington was in Miami
Sanchez had good games here too. The problem is that he is dogshit when all is said and done. Does anyone doubt a 3 int game is coming?
I'm glad Mark is doing great, but I see no benefit FOR HIM to return to this team - the guy wanted to move on, he did it's over and done with. Pennington in a Miami uniform to me was a kick in the balls. Hurt me dearly.
Like I said Sanchez is on a one year 2.25 million dollar deal though, and it's not a lock by any means that Chip Kelly is going to commit to Sanchez being his QB for the next 5 years, especially with Foles on the roster. Pennington signed a two year deal with the Dolphins, while we picked up Favre for a year, and then drafted Sanchez. We let him go, and then had no need for another QB. This situation is much different.
6 quarters is really not enough to jump on the "get back Sanchez"' bandwagon. Besides, if he leads the Eagles thru the playoffs, does anyone honestly believe he'll leave Philly? Jets would have to really put out the $$ to get him back.
I need to see way more from Sanchez before I believe there has been some kind of progression. And no, I would not want him back.
