Jesus get the fuck over it. We all get it, he didn't draft well. Do we need a fuckin thread for every player he missed on?
Not that I dont agree with the sentiment..I would've loved Matthews. But these in hindsight posts are maddening. Other teams passed on these guys too. Can we wait 3 years before we call Pryor a bust? Maybe see how he does on a secondary with actual NFL players on it?
Sanchez really likes matthews. I read he has more targets than Maclin since mark took over, I wouldn't be surprised to see this kids numbers balloon.
These threads are so stupid. They come off desperate. They are also extremely predictable. Honestly, did anyone last night REALLY not think for two seconds about which whiny bitch would be the first to make a thread on TGG?
I think part of that was the lack of anything resembling "coverage" on Matthews last night. That slow fat white kid that Carolina had playing the slot made Kyle Wilson look like Lester Hayes.
What's your point? You miss meetings, rookie or not, you should get benched. Doesnt make him a bust though.
Did we really pass on Matthews? Sure we didn't take him at 18, but he was gone before we selected in the 2nd round. We took Amaro at 49 and the Eagles took Matthews at 42. Benjamin was at 28. Maybe we didn't have a great draft, but I'm not sure we "just missed" on these guys. Lots of teams passed.
Why would we waste valuable draft picks on top end WR prospects?? It's not as if we had the worst WR's in football going into the draft. We're much better off stock piling DB's who can't play or stay on the field. This passing thing is way overrated anyway. I'm sure it won't last.
Benjamin was a great pick by the Panthers...NO ONE had him going that high, he had raw potential and they gambled and won. When we gamble (see Big Vern The Ghost of Defense's Past or Stephen Soap Hands Hill) we lose terribly.
His replacement did ok with the same talent around him. I agree it's too early to cast him off, but so far this season, our #1 pick is a huge let down.
Huge let down for sure. But for anyone to call a player a bust 10 games into his rookie year is jumping the gun a bit. People are way too quick to label a player a stud or a bust without even giving them time to develop. Id be more worried about Pryor being immature then not being able to play football. And his replacement has 30 games of NFL experience. And up until last weekend didnt do much more than Pryor's done.
Pryor may yet turn out to be a great safety, or he could turn into Kyle Wilson playing safety. Amaro was a position of some need, but our offense needs playmakers - not another guy who can work underneath. The fact is that this draft was LOADED in a position of need and we passed on players like Benjamin, Cooks, Lee, Matthews, Adams, Latimer, Robinson, Landry, Moncrief, and Brown before taking an undersized punt returner who we cut, and a middling WR who was showing no dynamic ability before he was injured. That sucks.
