I'm not buying Barrett right now, and no way are the Jets waiting until 2018 to find out. This yr or next we should have a QB drafted from the first round. Mariota, Winston, Cook and several others will be draft worthy in the next 2 yrs. Barrett got talent but his tape is sparse.
Personally, I'm not necessarily "rooting" against him, but I'd rather see him do poorly. If he thrives there it's an indictment on our entire organization. We've got huge problems if we made a good quarterback look that bad. If it really is just the fact that we've been bringing in bad quarterbacks, then it's far more easily fixed.
Kelly's offense can't hide Geno's poor footwork and lack of anticipation just like it can't stop Mark from making the random poor decision.

After watching Tom Brady suck against KC, what more proof do you need that quarterbacks cannot function without any protection? Do you remember what our offensive line looked like in 2011 and 2012? Really? in 3 of the 4 Playoff wins the Jets won he threw 2 TD's and 2 Pics, combined. in the Pittsburgh loss he couldn't do anything till it was junk time in the 2nd half and when it counted he came up short (junc likes to blame the defense for not giving Sanchez just one more chance, but on 6 of 9 drives the Jets had done zip on offense, including getting nothing after an 8 minute drive late in the game and never mind that it was a Sanchez fumble 6 that gave Pittsburgh the winning margin). and in teh Colts loss he had 1 quarter where he "led" the team to points....and was shut out the other 3 quarters. He was outstanding in the Patriots game in '10...but the other games? Meh.

That's not how it works on this board, people would rather be proven right with their draft evaluations and opinions on a player than to be proven wrong, regardless if it benefits the Jets or not.
What Kelly's offense does do is timed throw to a spot routes....no read, count and throw. Sanchez' screen's still look like crap though.
