The Jets are easy to hate: -They suck and people like winners. -They have a tendency to shoot themselves in the foot making it almost comical how they suck -They don't have a proud history -They are in NY, making it more difficult for them to slide into irrelevancy like most teams that suck -They have a blabbermouth coach that makes it all worse and easier to hate
Seriously...Rex brought this hate on when he stood up and declared he'd win the Super Bowl multiple times. Now he didnt and we suck, and we're paying the piper back in spades

so true - if you have a top tier QB you are going to have success regardless of who the coaches are, do they have an influence/impact? yes, some, but nowhere near as much as having a great QB does - but so many people seem to think that the Jets problems are all down to coaching as if a chance there is going to make a jot of difference with what we currently have under center.
no, actually they didn't. they made fun of us after all the losing like everyone did/does the '62 ny mets. this is different. people are taking joy in us falling on our face, completely different from just laughing at a bad situation, and it's not just our major rivals. it's everyone.
Yes, this is a fact: also- It didn't help when he acted like an asshole on HBO It didn't help when he could not keep his foot fetish off the internet It didn't help that he acts like a complete buffoon in press conferences It didn't help that a Sanchez tattoo appeared He is a clown. He got caught up in the NY spotlights and was not at all prepared to be a head coach. He is way too cozy with his players and is afraid to clap down when discipline is needed. Perhaps that is why the Ravens didn't give him the job??? He is anything but professional. he does not carry himself in a way that a HC of a professional team should. Don't think this does not matter - because I truly believe it does.

I don't think it's actually "hate" as much as it is a total lack of respect. I think the Jets are a laughingstock in their eyes. It starts with a clueless owner, then carries on through GMs who are clueless about personnel and how to put together a football team, and continues through a totally undisciplined CS who doesn't hold players or each other accountable.
How can you blame Rex for a team identity that was here for decades before he got here? We've always been losers. We've always lost in horrific fashion. Our draft picks never pan out. We could've always drafted someone better instead of ________. Players leave and play better for other teams. We've grown to expect it, and there is a significant part of our fan base that embraces and cherishes it. They media just gives us what we want. Rex tried to change that culture, and successfully did it for two years, but then we reverted back to the Same Old Jets.
