I always get confused whether these threads are better here or in the NFL forum but I saw a Hoyer thread in here so I'm gonna go with it. There are reports that the Eagles weren't happy with Foles even before his injury and that his future with the team is in serious doubt. Are you guys interested in pursuing him and taking a guy like Amari Cooper or a CB/OL with our high 1st rounder? Or, we could even take Mariota and develop him under Foles until he's ready. Thoughts? Article: http://www.nj.com/eagles/index.ssf/..._to_sour_on_nick_foles_before_his_injury.html Excerpt: '"Let's just say the way things were going, he wasn't going to get a contract extension that's for sure,'''another source told NJ.com before Foles' injury. '"Now, if he has a big second half, that could change.''' Foles isn't going to have any kind of a second half. His injury will keep him out anywhere from six to eight weeks, with the higher end more likely. There are only eight weeks left in the season."
I read somewhere that Nacho outplayed him in camp but they went with him anyway. Foles I think is largely a product of a team with tons of talent. If Vick can't get the job done the rest of the year and show that he can be a place holder until a young stud comes along then I'd rather sign a guy like Matt Moore or Hoyer over Foles.
Jets kicked Sanchez out, remember? If that dude is worse than Sanchez, you want him on your team? Brilliant, eh?
Foles might not be great but he would be a tremendous upgrade here. Maclin is a stud but Decker and Harvin and hopefully another WR would be a solid offense for Foles to work with. I cant believe Philly is rolling with Sanchez. He better hope he lights it up otherwise I could see Kelly holding an open tryout next week if he throws up a stinker. If he soured on Foles that quickly I can just imagine whats gonna happen with Sanchez.
I have no particular reason to dump on Chip Kelly, but it remains to be seen how well his approach works in the NFL. Point being I do not assume he is a proven commodity at managing in this league. He could quite simply be something less than perfect in that regard.
No CBs in the first round, but hell yeah I would take Foles for the foreseeable future. If they take Mariota, let him sit on the bench for a season or so. Or I would take Cooper and / or the best offensive lineman available. Sign me up. I don't think Sanchez is that much better than Foles if at all.
Seriously though last year Foles might of had the biggest fluke season in the history of the league... Sanchez is gonna take that spot from him! He's about to get Vicked.
Not unless Chip Kelly is coming with him... Which I don't want, either.. C'mon guys, I know we suck, but stop with these ridiculous threads..
I just don't think this franchise would ever get Foles whether he's a good fit or not to allow Sanchez to start. The tabloids would eat up the fact that the Jets dumped Sanchez for a guy Sanchez overtake and at this point I don't think Woody wants those headlines.
To me he seems to have the mindset of I can win with any QB that you give me. Well he's gonna get that chance to prove it.
I love this thread. the jets have been cursed with shitbag qb after shitbag qb and almost everyone responding to the possibility of picking up a qb who is obviously an nfl quality starter and almost certainly top half of all nfl qbs with a resounding no. smfh how many of the people who don't want foles still want to start geno so we can see what we have?
sanchez is still better then geno Sanchez is an average qb at best but hey you guys that knocked sanchez think you know more......
Its insane how many people just say no to any QB. This guy would be an obvious upgrade to anyone this team has seen since Brett Favre and people are still acting like he stinks.
