of course Mark gets some blame but he had no one he could trust when Holmes and Keller went down, add to it we couldn't run and what did we expect out of him?
I don't need others to tell me how to think, I post my opinions not the opinions of others. It's funny how my opinions usually end up being right in the long run.
And Eli has more rings than his brother, and you'd be a fucking idiot to take him over Peyton. Rivers hasn't been horrible in the postseason. He's played better teams like the Pats, Steelers, and Broncos.
Which opinion has been right in the long run? I seem to remember you saying there was no way Mark would throw 2 interceptions.....All excuses aside. the look on his face after the 2nd one said it all...he was bewildered and just looked totally lost, you could see it in his eyes.....
This post is titled something about Mark kicking ass with the Eagles after he had a decent exhibition game. Give me a break. And now the same crap we used to hear ad infinitum coming from his fans: it's Schillens fault the OCs and don't forget the OL even when they had 3 Pro Bowlers on the line. He had one decent year when the team featured a ground and pound offense. Something they should have stayed with.
I was hoping these multi-page Sanchez discussions would die when he fucked off to Philly. Guess I was wrong. I might start one about Reggie Cobb.
One had the #1 defense and didn't even make the playoffs in 2010, the other is Mark Sanchez. By the way, Rivers had LT in his PRIME, Mark has never had anyone close to LT in his prime w/ the Jets. If I needed one big game to win I'd take Eli. Rivers has been awful in postseason, AWFUL w/ elite talent around him. The Pats were NOT better in 2006, they were better in 2007, Pitt was not better in 2008(at least not more talented), the Jets clearly were not better in 2009. he's had top end talent and made just one title game and only made that one b/c his backup led SD to the GW TD drive. when did I say there's no way he'd throw 2 INTs? what are you talking about? if he look bewildered and lost how did he lead them on an 80 yd time consuming drive to put the game away? a drive that ended w/ a spectacular TD pass by the way.
Whatever one's opinion is of Sanchez...I gotta think most would rather he was still on the jets right about now.
I never said that. I'm saying the Jets certainly didn't do him any favors by surrounding him with a terrible team.
thats a good one… NOPE. The jets were smart for cutting him, over expensive, pointless to restructure, hurt, and really didn't look great to begin with last year. WE were in no position to try again with him, 5 years+ is enough time to cut ties and move on. The eagles were smart to try with him though, he's okay if EVERYTHING is working in his favor and they could use an experienced backup. things are working exactly as they should, we should have no regrets with Sanchez. good luck to him though...
we could've handled it better, I'll say this much he didn't help HIMSELF about as much as the jets didn't help him. we expected him to be able to put the team on his shoulders by 2011 and he couldn't. we did this because we were approaching cap hell and an unsustainable level of quality support on both sees of the ball, and Sanchez couldn't handle it… because he's an average at best QB and very turnover prone. but thats in the past. Point is, i don't feel bad that he's not here right now. hes in a great situation with the cast in Philly, he would've been awful in this O anyway.
we get worse at WR, RB, OL and expect him to carry the O in 2011? was that fair? we had money for Nnamdi, why not for offensive weapons? only Brady can win w/ marginal offensive talent around him, to expect Mark to do that was being unrealistic.
tough question, I mean a franchise QB should be able to handle less than ideal conditions right? on the other hand every QB needs some talent to help them out… In the end, the fact that he crumbled so badly (for his part) and threw so many picks could and WAS considered a sign he wasn't a long term answer. he doesn't look like he's fixed that particular habit in Philly, but they can absorb that, like his USC compatriot in arizona Carson palmer can with its touted offense and working D.
