Well, another stinker by us, but on the bright side, still on track for some real good picks this offseason. - Vick finished with real good stats (something like 100+ QB rating), but I thought he didn't play well at all. Still careless with the ball (almost fumbled it away once), looked to run too much instead of passing, and I thought he was really inaccurate on long throws. There was one to Salas where it was 10 yards away, another really bad miss near the end, and even that long pass Harvin brought in, the throw was really bad. Harvin ran by his CB, and if Vick throws that ball on target to a running Harvin, thats a TD. Instead he underthrew it, where Harvin had to stop and make a difficult catch with the CB on top of him. He continues to ignore Amaro, which is just strange. - Chris Johnson looked pretty good, his best game with us so far, and they finally managed to throw it to him. How have they not done more of this? - Harvin had a monster game, not just the 11 receptions and 130 yards, but also the great Kick-Off returns. One he almost took all the way back if not for that annoying trip. Should've been a longer penalty than 5 yards. This guy is pretty special if he can stay healthy. - The O-Line I think did ok, not great but they did give Vick time to throw at least part of the time, and they went up against a really good defense and pass rushing unit. Gotta remember these Chiefs embarassed Brady and the Pats a few weeks ago. - No show games for Ivory, Kerley and Amaro, but at least with Ivory and Amaro, it wasn't their fault, simply not being targeted/used. Really surprised why Cumberland is starting over Amaro and getting more targets at this point. - Secondary is still as bad as ever, not much to say there. Kyle Wilson is cracking me up lately, literally every time you see him, something bad is about to happen. - Coples went from having an outstanding game last week to being invisible again. That's pretty much the pattern with him, although I don't know how much of that is on him, and how much is on the schemes we use. Davis and Pace had good games, with each batting down a pass. Our terrible luck this year continues, with Pace knocking down a pass right to a Chiefs TE sitting on the ground, who then manages to score. Unbelievable. - D-Line was meh, but like with Coples, I really think they are not being used in a good way right now. I see Richardson dropping back into coverage on so many plays. Then other plays you got 3 guys rushing the QB, and each one being double or triple teamed. I understand that with our shitty secondary, Rex has to disguise stuff and bring more people into coverage, but this never seems to work either. I wish he would just do a simple cover 2 scheme with 2 safeties back, and Davis and another linebacker helping out in coverage, but let at least 4 guys rush the passer on a consistent basis. - Refs are still out to screw us. Anytime there is any kind of uncertainty, the call is always against us. When Harvin went down and the ball came out after he was down, they called it a fumble. Good thing they can review that stuff upstairs now. I was laughing when they called the tripping on that return on us at first. Was thinking umm, who is 5 on the Jets?
Ill give you my impressions in one second. Shit team, shit coaching, shit quarterback, shit preperation, shit blocking, shit pass defending, shit run defending.
Percy Harvin is exciting. Uhh the 2 new corners didn't get burned on a deep ball. And yeah. Nick Folk is money.
The impression I had, the Chiefs looked at the Jets run defense and said, "yes, we can beat them running the ball" and they did, to a tune of 4.7 YPC.....
also I wasn't surprised there were no turnovers..the only team worse at taking the ball away from the other team than the Chiefs are the Jets.
Harvin and Decker will be useful moving forward. That's basically it for positives. Our vaunted defensive line was garbage today.
We need to get Revis back, I don't care what it takes. At least he can cover a TE. Every week were giving up a score to a TE.
You do realize it's standard operating procedure to call it a turnover if it's close, right? I mean, you pointed out the reason why they do it that way (Because it's automatically reviewed).
Vick finished with real good stats and Harvin got over 150 yards receiving. We didn't turn the ball over. We won TOP. Yet we scored 10 measly points and lost by two touchdowns. Conclusion: there's a lot more wrong with this team than qb.
He was accurate on those short routes. Took some bad sacks. Only 196 yards. Not "real good" but at least he didn't turn the ball over for once. Of course he did get injured which is pretty much what I expected.
Percy looked awesome and Decker looked solid one would think Kerley would produce but he didn't really do anything. One game closer to the #1 pick.
We saw Vicks aversion to Amaro last week too. I don't know what's up with that. Maybe he just doesn't trust him because he's a rookie?
Who gives a shit about the num 1 pick, there isn't a franchise QB in this draft not one that's clearly visble .Id trade it if we did end up with it
My impression: The Jets sucked again. No offense to speak of at all, but Arrowhead is a hard place to play. For that matter KC didn't look that great; mostly dink-and-dunk, not a lot of downfield pressure in the passing game. In a past life I would have attributed that to Rex's scheme, but I've learned my lesson about not doing that. Vick's 100+ passer rating is overinflated. Just like Manning who threw for 400+ yards today while getting blown out by three touchdowns. I don't want to hear that Vick is a good option to start any game at QB for which the Jets have any other viable option. Sadly it is unlikely we will have any option before next year.
The 20 teams that don't make the playoffs "give a shit about the "num" 1 pick." I think Mariota is "visble"
Our draft history the last 6 years leaves me nothing to be excited about, our last 3 top 10 picks have been Vernon Gholston 6th overall,Mark Sanchez 5th overall and Dee Millner 9th overall,I rest my case First Round Picks Mark Sanchez-We all know the story a turnover machine and the buttfumble,he is currently leading the Eagles to victory Kyle Wilson-a complete and utter failure Mo Wilk-Great pick, one of the lone draft bright spots Sheldon Richardson-a good pick although he hasn't been much of a diffrence maker this season at all Coples-A decent pick but he isnt the game changer we need on defense Vernon Gholston-a complete bust, set the franchise back years in the long run when you think about it Dee Millner-spotty first year, major health issues Calvin Pryor-has had an awful first year Second Round Picks Stephen Hill-like most Jets second round picks he currently wears another jersey,a complete failure Geno Smith-will be wearing another jersey at some point, bust Vlad Ducasse-wearing another jersey, bust Jace Amaro-looks like a good pick so far Third Round Picks Brian Winters-bust Shonn Greene-decent depth back ,now plays for Titans Demario Davis-looks like he could be a leader and a solid player Mcdougle-who knows what this guy is or isnt Kendrick Ellis-a decent depth guy and nothing more The 2014 draft Only 3 players remain on active roster out of 12 draft picks, every time we miss on first and second round picks we set the franchise back a few years
