Milliner played far too many reps, I thought we would see him limited but he was out there a lot in the 2nd half.
I thought Antonio Allen did a much better job vs Jordy Nelson than Milliner. The press conference explanation from Rex about a "rotation" were mind boggling. What made him think that Milliner was going to do a better job after missing 4 weeks?
He shouldn't be playing CB.... He's an ok safety..... But the CB position is beyond him....he is playing there cause Izdik didn't address the position in the offseason..... Rember that when saying he sucks as a CB.....
I don't understand why Antonio Allen gets so much hate. Yes, he is not a good corner back. He played linebacker and safety in college. Obviously his best, is not good enough, but if we had better corner depth, he wouldn't be in this situation And this is coming from someone who supports Idzik.
I think it's a bit tough on him as he's probably switched positions 2-3 times this year alone which hasn't helped his development.
Have to feel for Allen. He's lost out there because they have him doing way too much, learning on the fly, etc. I don't know the type of ceiling this kid could've had but Idzik and to a lesser extent, Rex, has ruined him. On the Vereen fuck up he was supposed to be a in deep zone, similar to what he used to do when he was a safety, but he made the grave mistake of chasing the man under the zone like a CB would. Probably because he's been switched from safety to CB so much he doesn't know which is which anymore. (thanks Idzik) On the Amendola fuck up he was just beat. Poor coverage. Probably because he's a safety out there having to play CB. (thanks Idzik) This is a kid who showed real potential as a coverage safety last year. Idzik/Rex set back his development by taking a flyer on a washed up Ed Reed probably as a favor from Rex. And now they really have messed up him with this year's debacle. Whatever future he had as a safety is gone.
I like Allen and all, and he's been a trooper, but I think we are seeing why he fell to 7th round. The 2nd TD he allowed yesterday was understandable, it's hard to expect him to stay with agile WRs, and the Pats WR made some nice moves and a nice catch, but the first TD yesterday, the TD in the Green Bay game, and some other mistakes are just brutal. They are not the result of him not having the tools to be a CB, but just the result of mental breakdowns. He's been making a ton of mental mistakes this season. Some of that might be due to having to learn all these different positions, but I dont know if you can use it as an excuse.
Can we rename this to the Antonio Allen sucks thread? This bum has no business being in the NFL starting.
Allen sucks ass. He cant cover tight ends or WRs. The guy is an absolute joke along with other jokes on this team.
Can we rename this to the cut Antonio Allen thread? This guy is downright painful to watch. He is completely lost out there. He cant cover WRs or TEs. He literally has no use on this team and is now currently being replaced with guys off the street.
Did FakeRevis play? Where the fuck has he been? Compared to Allen and the dude we just picked up (from where, the airport?) he hasn't been that bad.
I cant think of any team with a worse secondary. The guys playing out there today i have never even heard of. Whats sad is Allen and Pryor were both benched for guys off the street. That has to tell you how bad the back 4 of this defense are.
Antonio Allen is regressing big time. It's scary because even though our new corners were picked on, Allen gave up the key plays and is playing under expectations
