Hey moron, you dont know for sure what was even said and if it was just basic smack talk, i doubt there was a haymaker thrown. It as more likely more personal then that and he most likely got right into a Jets fans face and trashed his team among other things. If some fans want to go into opposing teams venue and act up, they need to be put in their place. If he was just cheering to himself or his friends, there wouldnt be an issue.
Whut? Too be perfectly candid, I have seen hundreds of incidents at Giant Stadium and MetLife when a fan of another team who was simply cheering was showered with beer, food, abuse, etc leading to escalation and fighting and beat downs and arrests. We're down 42-0 and the other team scores and the dude in the Chief or Pat or Dolphin or Raider jersey stands up, throws his arms up in the air and he's going down. There are 1000s and 1000s of great fans, but there is a douchebag in every single section who is drunk and all too ready to take out his frustration with his miserable life on the fan of an opponent who is merely cheering for his team. 70,000 people and 700 drunken douchebags can cause quite a ruckus. _
Yeah he did get what he deserved. What was he expecting was gonna happen? I also said that the Jets games were not a good family atmosphere. This shit happens every game. It is sad but it's the way things are. I'm not saying I like it but that fan or any other fan should not be surprised that he got knocked out. We can agree to disagree cause everyone can have their opinion. If the Bills fan was running his mouth and starting with the Jets fan, he had to expect a fight, and if you expect a fight there is a possibility that you might get knocked out. He may not have wanted that but he had to expect that it was a possibility otherwise he should have kept his fucking mouth shut and avoided the whole situation. Both guys were in the wrong the Jets fan did get arrested so he got what he deserved also.
In all fairness you don't know what exactly what was said......now in not one to just starting fighting someone because they are talking shit but if they cross the line of what they are saying it could go down
Firstly youre just making assumptions about what may have happened to justify your belief that this guy "deserved" it. Secondly if you can't handle a bit of trash talk and need to resort to violence then you shouldn't be allowed to attend games anymore - you should be banned. Thirdly people have definitely been harangued or hit before for merely cheering their side - have a look at @Stokes post in this thread. Sometimes morons don't need an excuse, sometimes they react after minor provocations - at the end of the day if you can't handle a bit of smack talk and need to resort to king hitting someone then you're a bigger lower than is worth talking about.
Stuff like this angers me. What kind of a "man" attacks someone with a weapon unexpectedly? Most people are born into this world with 2 hands, 2 feet, and one brain. Use them. I just get sick of seeing people resort to knives or guns in a fight or in a mass rampage. Its never going to stop. I wish someone tripped the fucker(s) as they were running and they cracked their jaw on the sidewalk but I get it it happened so instantly and sudden. Why the fuck has society relied so much on weapons and attacking people in groups? God damn, I hate reading stories like this. Seems like every year's there some fight at Metlife. From the Cowboys fan tazer story to the Patriot/Jet fans fight last year with a moron punching a Pats fan who happened to be a woman and I am sure there's been tons more too. The Jets/Giants game is going to be hell next year, that's probably going to be "the game" where fights will happen.
I think your missing the scenario. This didn't invole a man attacking another man with a weapon. This wasn't a stand off fight. Not a confrontation. This was a random drive by assault. Throwing acid in someone's face or a drive by shooting or slashing of a woman's face on the streets of NYC. It's not about the weapon, it's about the randomness of the assault. _
I know, I just don't know why society as a whole relies on the use of weapons and attacking in groups now more than ever. What happened to the days where if you have a disagreement that (for some reason) can't be controlled by words, what happened to just fighting one another without a gun or knife or a 4 on 1 beatdown? Its like really? Using a fucking beer bottle? Against someone with a kid? Just seems like there's so many cowards now more than ever. This is yet another story.
Regardless, we both dont know for sure what happened so we have nothing to go by other then assumptions. Personally though, If someone got right in my face during a blowout and has been rubbing it in the entire game and taunts me and makes it personal, i would definitely retaliate. If you would just sit there and smile it off, you better go check to see if you still have a pair...
I can't speak to the Meadowlands, because I wouldn't go anywhere near the place if you paid me. But I've been in the bleachers at old Yankee Stadium when the Sox were in town late in the season and the AL East was up for grabs. And I've been to Nassau Coliseum when the Rangers played the Islanders. So I've seen my fair share of fan-related violence. I'm not saying its right, and I'm not saying this guy deserved to get clocked. But the reality on the ground is, and pretty much always has been, that a fan rooting against the home team and for a hated rival just about anywhere needs to be pretty circumspect about his actions, because he's likely going to be a magnet. Sports fans can be, in various combinations, very emotional, very stupid, and very drunk. You are simply asking for trouble if you are loudly and obviously, and god forbid at all obnoxiously, rooting for the Bills against the Jets in the Jets' home. Again, I'm not saying the trouble is deserved, or that this guy was actually being obnoxious at all. But what happened to him is unfortunately not surprising at all.
If he was rooting for the Bills with Bills fans or just casually cheering to himself then no one would have any reason to clock this guy. No one is saying a fan isn't allowed to cheer for their own team in an opposing venue but anyone who thinks he was clocked for just cheering is a fool. He was making a scene and paid the price. Maybe next time he'll be more respectful at other teams venues. He's lucky he didn't try this crap in Oakland or he wouldn't been stabbed.

This should be the case but in my experience its not. This probably is the case, but it doesn't prove your earlier point. I have a rule, I NEVER wear any team colors at any professional sports game I ever go to, not even Jets gear at home games and I've been a STH since 2000. I go to at least 2 away games every year and other than the folks I go to the game with, no one in those away stadiums has any idea I'm a Jet fan. It just not worth it. I'll wear my Syracuse hoodie or TShirt at games at the Dome because it's a different atmosphere, but even away games (Meadowlands, Rutgers, Pinstripe Bowl) you will see no Orange and Blue on me. _
Things don't usually start at the assault stage. They build over time and escalate to a point where it's too late to get security because the punches start flying and the shit goes down. _
Oh, I know. I've seen plenty of stupidity at NFL games. Security is happy to escort fans out for disorderly conduct, more than people think. They want to avoid the threat of a brawl, which could happen when fans take it upon themselves to deliver justice through throwing haymakers.
And people call the upperdeck the "ghetto" and "whitetrash" seats. You see just as many fights in the lower sections. Pennington and a T.O. jersey. Both scumbags got whatever came to them. T.O. had to be talking over the top crap. I've been to Bills/Jets game at Metlife and talk loads of shit, never had anyone want to fight me yet.
