I'm actually amazed there wasn't more. I'm calling bullshit that she walked for 10 hours straight but if she did and what we see in the video is the worst "harassment" she got I am quite surprised. Just imagine if she walked in Irvington, NJ for 10 hours straight.... (ok I had to)
So none of you guys have a problem with these creeps saying that to your Mother, sister, girlfriend or Wife?
You guys actually thought she was being filmed with the camera in full view? Hidden camera? What?!? I've never heard of such a thing! How kerrrraaazzzyyyy!!!!!
I stand corrected, only saw a bit of the clip this am on the news and it looked to me that she was putting on a performance. _
She spent 10 hours walking through lower class neighborhoods in tight fitting clothes and they got 2 minutes, and most of it was some dudes saying "hello" or "good morning". And they want money. Because giving them money is going to stop people from saying hello? This is twisted. I live in Queens and if she walked around in my neighborhood she would get almost no reaction. I have seen women dressed like that, and who look like that, walk around here, and there's no catcalling or whistles. They targeted certain neighborhoods. You know what's harassment? Taking videos of people without their consent, and posting it on the Internet implying they're some kind of predators.
Question, when I hold a door for a 90 year old woman and say, "how are you doing today?", am I harassing her? Because I do it all the time since my area has a lot of elderly. Should I just let the door slam on them? It seems I say the same as 90% of the people on the video. Sure some are degenerates but does the age of the person being talked to determine if it is harassment?
Eh, I would keep holding that door and keep doing the same thing you are doing now. This is more-so a generational issue in my opinion. The women then compared to the women today? Completely different mindset.
Yep. I'm pretty sure it didn't used to be considered harassment to say hello or good morning to someone.
Chivalry was respected and thought of as being polite back then. Some women nowadays hate when you hold the door for them because they think you are belittling them. I just find it funny because social media, these women with instragrams and facebooks - they do everything under the rules to get as many likes and responses as possible yet in real life they reject it and say you are harassing them.
Yes, I was pretty much making the comment for comparison and of course will continue doing what I do. I am curious why the guy filming didn't use his own girlfriend for the video since he says that was the impetus for making it, maybe she doesn't have 34DD's on a 5' 4" frame and wouldn't have elicited the same responses? Got those measurements off her webpage.
For those with cable and wanting to see more apparently she'll be on Anderson Cooper soon. I wonder if Cooper will grill her but hey, w/e. I'm off to watch the WorldSeries.
There are a dozen different directions/perspectives I can go after seeing this video. I'll share a few. First, I think the issue isn't so much what is being said, but how it's said in terms of tone, voice inflection etc. The context is key too, the sidewalk during the day to a complete stranger isn't an ideal place to say/do these kind of things. People dont focus on how what they say affects how women feel and that the context in which whatever is said is very important. Communication is key. Secondly, my thought after seeing this video was what would a video of me walking around NY for 10 minutes look like? The answer is that it would be the boringest fucking video of all time. Why? Because nobody gives a fuck about a random dude walking thorugh Manhattan. Trust me, I've only lived it and done it 25235345 times Third, and lastly, I honestly think this woman made this video for her own personal ego gratification. Meaning, she wants to share with others just how much attention she can get from walking around a shitty area of Manhattan with a big ass and proportioned breasts. This video screams "look at me! look at how much attention i'm getting! look how hot people think i am! lol this chick needs to stfu and put the camera away. We get it, you got a fat ass and nice brown hair, congratulations lol
I just read she's getting rape threats now. http://www.theguardian.com/lifeands...-hours-of-harassment-walking-through-new-york Working as intended.
The rape threats are from youtube comments so whatever... A lot of guys definitely need to behave but it's very naive to think that this is something that can be changed. Males have been sexual predators for the entire existence of our species. If you're a woman and you go walk around on the street in a metropolis by yourself in tight fitting clothes through some less than upscale environments you should expect to encounter some poorly calibrated (creepy) approaches. She encountered two of these in the video, that's a pretty low number considering she was on the street for ten straight hours. maybe she should doll up a little more next time she goes to make a video.
