Is there even anyone available that we would rather have? We will see, but the way things are looking Rex is going to be out of a job pretty soon. My perfect scenario would be us retaining rex but only as D coordinator (unlikely to happen) and to bring someone up from NCAA such as Bob Stoops or Mike Gundy to bring that creative dimension and culture shifting energy to this franchise. Look at chip kelly and jim harbaugh perfect examples of immediate success stepping up from college (or maybe they just inherited great teams idk) Who can possibly replace Rex and get the job done? Is our next coach currently coaching another team? Or someone who has been retired for years looking for a comeback? (Bill Cowher? Jon Gruden?) Soooo let me know what you guys think
i don't understand why everyone thinks rex is a defensive mastermind. every defense he worked for has used almost all of there high draft picks on that side of the ball and all he does is blitz them. honestly, I think herm Edwards system was better. bend but don't break while rex runs a break but don't bend crap system. rex and his brother are the most overrated coaches in game and maybe ever to be in league. they sure toot there own horn enough....that's for sure. as for your question, we need to get an offense guy in town now....it hasn't been since the early '90 we went that way and it's about time, especially since that is the way the league went with all of it's rule changes.
rex is overrated? by who exactly... lol.. Rob is a bum coach he'll never see a HC position. But Rex? come on..Give that man a proven QB that can score points and watch his team prosper. I can see him good in INDY, ATL, Cinci (omg this would be perfect for him), Chicago, or Detroit

Relax dude theres no reason to be a dick!! maybe your wife has put you in the dog house and no play for awhile now? Or maybe mommy sent u back down to your basement but either way keep the smart remarks to yourself guy
Rough first day on the Internet I take it? Don't worry, once you realize that words can't hurt you it will be okay.
no coach can turn this team around quick. we have no talent. we are so far off at some many important positions that its a 2-3 year turnaround. you can scratch off gruden and cowher, they arent coming back for a rebuild. a college coach is going to want dynamic talent as well,... no one is building an offense around the crap we have... if we fire rex, our only options are going to be coordinators who have been passed over several times and will take any chance they can get. this is the worst job on the market. bottom 5 talent wise, no QB, a circus atmosphere, a joke owner, and broken locker room
Yes i agree with you on nobody wanting to come to the circus. Thats why woody needs to reach into his pockets a pay a fuckingg guru to take command of the franchise but sadly that isn't visible in the near future.
Retaining Rex is your perfect scenario? Yet another failed employee retained, just given another position? How many of those do the Jets have to endure? Get real, guy. That's a horrible idea from any perspective. You don't fire someone from one job and then give him another. You don't retain a D coach who is in charge of and running the D that's historically bad and whose players are underperforming. I don't know who will be available. While I'll stop short of saying anyone would be better (see Schottenheimer and Sparano), hiring an experienced HC who is a disciplinarian would be a great start. If he has NFL coaching experience, all the better. I just know I don't want yet another HC who has never been a HC before. That's the Jets' history in a nutshell and our history sucks. I'm not interested in Gruden or Cowher, although they'd be preferable imo to a coordinator becoming a first-time HC. I think I'd rather go with a successful collegiate coach, who is an offensive coach and innovative. This team needs discipline and needs offensive help.
