I lied...in a previous thread I said it would be the last time...instead this will be. I lobbied HARD for Alex Smith and got laughed off the fuckin' board. Doesn't look all that stupid now does it?

Having flaunted my brilliance I'll close with this. There is not one single Vet QB that is worth bringing in....not a single solitary one. Face it Jets Fans...we are fucked for the very foreseeable future. You can take that to the bank.

A veteran QB is a waste of time. It never works. Only 1 team in the last decade has won the Super Bowl (Saints) with a QB that wasn't originally drafted by the team, and they were extremely fortunate to have a young QB that was clearly getting better year after year fall into their lap. Replacing the QB with a QB that is already proven to only be a backup is fucking stupid as hell. That's exactly what the Bucs did this year. They went and signed McCown as their "Veteran" QB and he was awful. All Veteran means is old, it doesn't mean good. Vick is a veteran....he looks like shit too.

Mariota or Winston will be the QB of the Jets next year on opening day. The new coach (and maybe new GM) will get to choose which they want.

I'm confused; we don't need more games "to see what we have" in Geno?

Having a capable veteran qb allows the team to compete while the young qb learns the ropes of being a professional. The last time the Jets drafted and groomed a good qb they used this strategy it was just unfortunate that Pennington couldn't stay healthy.

This used to be the norm in the NFL. Throwing a qb into the fire before they're truly ready is a good way to ruin them and get coaches fired.

It's time to groom a qb the right way.

We could really use a red zone target, especially how we overthrow people in the red zone.

Ed Reed got interceptions, how many do we have this year? 1
