I would rather see some new people in charge of "fixing."

Stop with the excuse making. The Patsies went to the freaking Super Bowl with Julian Edelman and Philip Adams playing CB. In this league it is all about play at the QB position. As we showed again today.

    Fire Idzik now.

    Start Vick.

See if Smith can be improved upon...

Get Real, Beli is a DB coach to start with, and as good a DC as rex.

this team was dismantled by the GM.

Sanchez playing for 4 mil in PHilly.

Cro, what 3 mil? in Arizona?

7 million dollars between winning in a year where the division was possible AND THIS PUTRID PILE OF PIG SLOP,...How far under the cap is boy wonder?

    that never happens under TANNY

I like your writing, pretty much sums it up . My thoughts are

1 - We do not have a QB, period end of story and its time to do something about it. We will never amount to anything till we find one. Bring in a solid veteran that at least make us respectable while we draft our future QB. I don't care if we draft one QB year after year till we find the right guy. And when we find the guy DO NOT START HIM TILL HE IS READY
2- Rebuilding presupposes cleaning house, it will be a bitch, it always is, yet we have more holes than we probably think. We need a leader that is smart enough not to throw AWAY THE BABY WITH THE BATH WATER as we attempt to make this team respectable
3- If Rex goes so should most of the offensive and defensive coaching staff - if Rex stays they should still go
4- We need a draft guru that knows football players inside and out, especially offensive weapons and QB talent. He should have enough power to make things happen
5- Our defensive front is the untouchable nucleus - our offensive line is in dire need of strength, our secondary is due for a massive upgrade

This year the team has taken a major step backwards, injuries or not the performance on the field has been pathetic.

Don't forget Matt Slauson. He was playing at a pro bowl level in Chicago before his injury.

This is a legitimate bad football team. Hopefully we get a good pick and wholesale changes are made

No, he was rushed back for that one, struggled and then sat down again to finish his recuperation process.

The bottom line is we have no QB, until we get even a serviceable game manager type QB we have no shot to be a legit team. Russell Wilson is far from an elite QB but he doesn't make many mistakes. He also isn't throwing to Megatron on a weekly basis either.

We played like dog crap...... We have 4-7 players on our roster that should be in the NFL at all..... On top of that, we beat our selfs with stupid penalties, bad punts, and giving up good returns...... To sum it all up, and put a bow on it...... We suck... Those are my thoughts.....

rebuilds dont happen in one season. last year our 8-8 season was a fluke, but made us feel good and we expected even more. i havent followed the nfl for that long, but a rebuild lasts more than a year. we fucked up, and this may have set us back 2 years (this year and next, and possibly last). we need to draft and actually keep later round players, cut old players, and at least have a plan to fill our weaknesses (really with cb and wr, we "lucked" out with a great harvin deal but still) it really starts at the oline, when you draft oline you know you're in a rebuilding process. unfortunately we lost that luxury since we will have no qb next week and pressure will be to pick up Mariota. I would've loved cooper but a new coach will get mariota for sure

Sheldon Richardson is going to the Pro-Bowl this year and every year there after. That dude is worth watching this abortion of a team. I wish we could clone him.

On your number 5. This is my biggest concern should Rex Ryan leave. Is there a chance he brings some of our nucleus with him to his new team (even as a DC) once they become free agents? He did it when he left the Ravens.

We need to lock down Mo Wilk ASAP, and I'm not sure if Idzik is going to give him the money he needs to stay on this team.

Axel. I totally agree with you. Players, particularly on the D like playing for Rex and are very loyal. I can see a few bailing out if not under contract. Snack, Ellis, Mo could be serious targets from the Jets as will be Revis.
