Braylon Edwards, Charles Rodgers, Mike Williams, Tavon Austin, Ty Williamson.

    First round WRs bust, too.

The Lions have have the missed playoffs in two consecutive seasons and they've only made it to the post season once since they drafted Calvin. As for AJ Green, a WR can only do so much. The Bengals have all the talent in the world, but they're missing a true star Quarterback, who can take them to the next level, which is why they have zero playpff wins in their last three trips to the postseason .

Jets just traded a 4th/6th pick for Harvin and signed Decker as FA and resigned Kerley. Wont be WR in top 3.

If only the Jets knew how to scout a FN WR.

It means something...the dude has 3 more INTs than TDs.

^ That's the same as Geno Smith has IN THE NFL, not the easy to navigate Big 10...

I hear what your saying..but it doesn't make sense to pick a luxury weapon after using a tone of other resources on the position.,.if harvin isn't on the roster then by all means..but I don't see the point in upgrading just to upgrade..if we had a better qb to throw to our weapons now there would be no issue

Do we have to list the 1st round busts at QB?

How is Cooper Top 3 good over guys like Devante Parker, Funchess, White, Strong, DGB in the 2nd or trade up into the first?

He's not that much better than those guys. It's up to our scouting department to hit on picks that aren't layups.

You wouldn't take that talent over what the Jets have right now? Those teams underperformed due to coaching.

Best case scenario: The Jets take Cooper, and Mariots drops , like Bridgewater, and we trade up for him. But that's unlikely

    Again I don't like Hackenberg.

But posting Geno's college stats as evidence of anything at all is silly.

I just don't get why you wouldn't address OL and QB before WR, it makes no sense. "Sammy Watkins" isn't the right answer.

Moncrief - third round pick, Adams - 2nd, Matthews 2nd.

These guys are producing just fine with their Qbs.

It's evidence he was a significantly better college Quarterback than Hackenberg.

Just because the dude hasn't lived up to it in the NFL doesn't mean it shouldn't be "used as evidence".

Before you even try to throw out Jamarcus Russell stats or something silly...just don't. I would take Geno 100/100 times over him.

EDIT: I think we agree on multiple levels of "what we should do" going forward as the Jets. But I don't think that historical stats and how they project future success is irrelevant.

Lol is that right? The guy runs routes at an NFL level already. Excellent hands and will make people miss. Blake Sims isn't even all that great.

But yeah I just watch the sport center highlights. The guy is on another level. He could be our Antonio Brown.

Yeah and Antonio Brown wasn't a top 3 pick.

So you are going to let a player of that caliber pass by you? You're kidding right?

Yes, of course I'd take them over our talent. But Dalton has single handedly cost the Bengals two playoff wins. And in the 2012 and 2014 playoff game Green was non existent, due to inept play at the Quarterback Position.

Would you rather have Mariotta and Strong or Cooper and 'blank'? Or best offensive lineman or Randy Gregory and Jaelen Strong/Devante Parker?

You can get a good WR in the 2nd but the best prospect at his position OL or DL or maybe QB in top 3.

That's how I'd personally attack the draft. The Falcons are a bottom dweller with Julio Jones, btw.

    Holy shit, a "stat" guy!

I saw Geno play live 3 times in college and 2 dozen times on TV. His "stats" mean shit. He was throwing shovel passes --handoffs really--to Austin and Bailey that they were taking for 90 yard TDs. He threw for 600 yards and 7 TDs against James Madison. Who knew James Madison played football?

Because he has better "stats" than Hackenberg only means that Hackenberg isn't good either.

I don't need to bring up anyone other than Geno.

    His college stats mean nothing.

Jaleen Strong will be a first round pick so this more than likely wouldn't happen. I'm taking the best player available for the Jets and to me it's Cooper.

Mariota has great potential but doesn't everyone? Jets need a pocket passer that can read defenses and take snaps under center and be effective. Go through progressions. Mariota lacks that.
