Cooper pick means nothing when you have no QB or OL.

    2 things

    A. I love mariota..I've said this a lot in other posts..I've been on him for awhile and now we could have a change to draft him. I'm not a scout and I know he comes from a funky offense that puts up huge numbers. But I just like him.,I just think he would be Awsome to have on the jets

    b. I love cooper also..and I'm going tone jeolous of the team who gets him..but the fact is as I posted since we got harvin..as long as harvin decker and kerly are here we will not be paying for another high end free agent wr or drafting one high..next year we will be paying almost 20 million on the position

I'm def all for mariota..and you can call me what ever type of fan you want..of you want the qb you have to suck for the draft pick to better the franchise

    Testify.

I am so sick and fucking and tired of that backward thinking 'get some skill players and find the QB later'.

    No.

Get the QB first. Sit him for a year and build the offense around him.

    Not the other way around.

    Geezuz fuck.

I hate this discussion, as, per my avatar, don't think that Geno Smith is completely washed up.

After today (part of me hopes there is something wrong with Geno's shoulder, as at least that would explain something..) I do however admit that I'm not sure he's going to be the solution.

My ideal scenario, is to take the best QB out there that we have rated. I don't care if it's Mariota, Cook, Winston, etc. - but get them and let them SIT a year behind Geno and a Veteran QB Signing.

It would be a blessing in disguise if we did this and Geno turned out to win a starting job, and then lead us as a competent ~ Top 15 QB next year. That's a GREAT dilemma to have.

We HAVE to find the "Franchise" QB. It doesn't have to be a Luck or a Manning or a Rodgers - but we need to find at least a Rivers, Big Ben, hell, even a Romo will do. 10+ years of consistency out of a single guy is what we need to ever get out of this good for a year (or two) then suck for 2 to 3 years rotation we're in. With the rookie salaries slotted as they are now, we can mess up at QB and not end our franchise for years to come.

Bills are 5-3 with Kyle Orton and Sammy Watkins is a big reason why. If you can grab the best weapon in the draft you do it. The offensive line is average and can be upgraded via FA.

What if the best weapon in the draft happens to play the most important position in the history of organized sports?

Do you still buy the shingles or do you start with the foundation?

The bills didn't have 20 million tied to wr's for the next 4 years..two of them are on there rookie contracts

I don't buy Mariota being the best weapon in the draft. I'll gladly take Cooper, sign a veteran QB, and build the offense line. That's not to say the Jets shouldn't draft a QB because they should. They should draft one this year and absolutely next year.

Cooper will also be on a rookie contract.
Harvin's contract is cap friendly also and is not guaranteed. We have no idea what the future holds for Decker and Harvin so I'm taking the best weapon on offense.

Cooper. Sign a veteran QB for a year, if said QB doesn't produce we can draft Hackenberg in 2016.

Cooper is a can't miss receiver prospect.

Um and how are you sure Hackenbeeg will be there in 2016, and who's say to say we'll be bad enough to draft him?

Also, I'm not buying into the Hackenberg hype, he's been average at best this season.

You can get equal talent to Cooper at pick 33-35 IMo but whatevers.

Let's never build the offensive line, sign unattractive free agents and projects.

How about AJ Green? Calvin Johnson? Mike Evans is good though. He produces every game.
