Who do you go with if we get the opportunity to draft one? Picture this being the franchise redefining pick as it was in 1996 with Keyshawn and back in 1965 with Namath or
Not sure MM is in the league of manning, rivers, etc etc...... That creates a problem cause if the jets do decide on QB in round 1, they cannot miss. That would be 3 hi QB picks in 6 years. Gonna be another interesting off season for woody.
I really doubt Mariotta will be there when we pick (he is going to be a top2 pick) I am sure we will win a few games this year be 4-12 picking like 5/6....IF HE IS there, we take him. However, we will prob. take Coop.
Not a fan of Mariota at all, I'm hoping if he's there at 1 and we have the pick we trade it for a haul of picks.
Cooper and sign a veteran QB (Bradford) to run the show for 2 years while we develop a young QB on the bench.
We need to do everything we can to get Mariota, don't care what it takes. Cooper is a great player but everything begins and ends with the QB and we will never be a consistent winner until we find that franchise guy. Mariota is that guy. _
Drsft cooper and bring in an offensive minded HC. Someone who knows the offensive side of the ball will definitely know how to utilize Percy decker cooper and Kerley
Cooper but I have to say after today's game that taking a QB high in the draft is not as foolish as I once thought. Sucks. I don't think there will be a worthwhile veteran on the market. Sam Bradford is way too much of a health liability, same with Jake Locker.
U really think so?? I have watched him in 2 games this year and while I saw some good things I wasn't sold out. I have to watch him the rest of the way.
Oh, how quickly has the tone changed here. Two weeks ago all I heard was, " I don't want Mariota, lets just sign a veteran and wait for 2016". And he was even called Geno 2.0 by some posters. Lets look at the veteran options Hoyer: He's servicable, but he's bound to be overpaid this offseason, Bradford is an injury waiting to happen and I'm not sure he has the arm strength needed to play in Metlife, and Locker is just awful. If Cook comes out this year, which I expect him to, other than Hackenberg I don't see a potential franchise Quarterback in 2016. So give me Mariota. .
Cooper with Decker and Harvin will change this offense. I think the Jets need to go and find a veteran QB [Hoyer, Bradford, Matt Moore]. Hope in 2016, you have an opportunity to get a QB via draft. Jets have to revamp the coaching staff first with a coach that pays attention to both sides of the ball. Preferably with a specialty on offense. Only way I draft Mariota is if I sit him for half a season or a year. He's too raw. Connor Cook you could argue is a 2nd round pick right now. I think he's rough around the edges too and could benefit from another yr at school.
Not sure if Mariotta is THAT guy like a manning or Luck, but yes, it all begins and ends at QB. I would give bradford a shot as well if we dont go QB. Clearly Geno is not good enough
Luck and Manning are once in a generation prospects. If you're waiting for THAT guy to come along, we probably won't draft a Quarterback until 2020.
