Brian Hoyer?

?

Would you be happy if Idzik spent some of his hoard signing Hoyer this offseason?

  1. Yes, he's young, had success and would be motivated

  2. No, he has a low ceiling, too expensive for the value, better to use a high draft pick, etc.

Dude we are fucked. Yea Hoyer kinda sucks, hopefully everyone can get off his dick now after that JAX game, but he's passable for a year. He's a placeholder QB. He's gritty as hell and works in a defense/run team. He's the best FA available. Doesn't matter anyway. browns are browns and Manziel sucks so they'll probably pay hoyer way too much. Let's get Locker who sucks a little less dickhole than Geno. Yay!

It's hilarious but after those two the best guy FA is Sanchez. Ha to the motherfuckin Ha. Players have egos.

If I was GM I'd put my snake face on and give Hoyer a nice contract with minimal guaranteed money Kaepernick style and lie to him abt being the guy while I plan on drafting his replacement and cutting him the next year or the year after.

If there wasn't so much baggage between Sanchez and the Jets he'd honestly be at the top of the list. Could he come back at a dramatically lower price? Everything I know about the NFL tells me no yet there's this funny feeling I have...

    Prediction:
Both will be back on the squad by the end of March, with Sanchez stepping in for Geno early in the 2015 season. Jets win SB, Rex and Sanchez have last laugh. While drunkenly celebrating, Rex gets a #6 tattoo on his forehead. A jealous Revis holds out until Rex gets #24 tramp stamp. Rex makes history as first coach with face tattoo to win multiple Super Bowl titles.

I'm up for that. I'll get a Revis/Sanchez/Rex filled-in giant dildo tatted on my ass with a Brady head leading into my bunghole

I proposed a solution to our QB problem (Hoyer and / or Mallet).

All you did was throw rocks at my suggestion. Hence the ad hominems.

You tell us how you would improve our QB solution (ride with Geno is not a viable option unless you can explain how he will improve or what makes you believe there has been any progress). If my ideas are so bad, tell me what I am missing and how we get better.

Signing Sanchez would be a nightmare on so many levels it's inconceivable.

There simply is no solution to the QB problem right now so we are stuck with Geno for 2015. Hoyer is better right now but you're not winning a SB with him. Mallet is worse.

Titans just benched Locker. He's inconsistent and injured a lot but man it'd be sweet to swing a late round draft pick for him and cut one of our 8 WRs.

Yes, bring him in, he is an improvement over Geno, he can actually receive the ball from under center which is how the WCO is intended to be used, not having your QB in shotgun formation 90% of the time because he can't get under center....what a joke!

    Your quiz needs another choice.
The Browns are not going to trade him.

They'll probably try to trade Manziel considering that they've talked him up with how he runs the scout team offense and such.

I personally have no belief that Locker is better than Geno--maybe you know differently--what do you know about him?

Locker versus Geno is a meal choice between Taco Bell and Burger King; either way, you're ending up with indigestion.

It amazes me how some posters to this board kill those calling for Rex' head justifying it as "he wasn't given enough talent to succeed, let's give him what he needs to be successful before we judge him as a failure", yet those are the same posters that call for a new QB every 2 years.
Geno has his faults, no argument there, but has he been given the talent on offense he needs to be successful?
    Obviously not.

Now Hoyer is the flavor of the month.
A "stop gap" guy, "hold the fort".
Who the fu€k wants a stop gap guy ?
"Stop gap" or " hold the fort" means we win a few games , maybe make a run at a wildcard but not really have any expectations to do anything but a one and done in the playoffs.
I don't give up on a 2nd year player learning the NFL game with sub par talent around him on offense for a "hold the fort" guy.

Geno has talent, he makes all the throws. He's pretty accurate when given protection, it's when he's pressured he makes poor decisions.
Again, I AM NOT SAYING GENO ISNT WITHOUT FAULT, but I think we build this offense up with talent around him and see what happens.

Hoyer is perfect for the Jets. Bring him in, draft a QB and let that QB SIT AND LEARN. Hoyer is a very underrated player IMO it seems every time I look up and the games on the line he's tossing a TD.

He's not underrated. If anything he's overrated. He's a QB that can manage the game well when the running game is dominating. When the run game gets shut down he's not gonna carry the team with his arm. That's what happened last week.

I watched the Browns-JAGS game last week and the only one that looked worse than Hoyer was Pettine (he made some BONEHEAD) moves.
That being said, potential "stop gap" guy if Geno doesnt start to clean up his bonehead decisions..... and that may be a motivation behind the Harvin move. So they can actually see if it's the QB or the WRsto make a decision on the future.

which is exactly what we need. And reality is unless an unforeseen QB becomes available there aren't better options. As of today, Geno is not it and Hoyer is best option.
