Only reason I've seen a lot of him is that I'm an MSU alum and a lot of their games have been televised the last couple years.
I've seen him play the past 2 years. MSU has been developing QBs with Hoyer and Cousins. I get the feeling there some good coaching going on down in MSU and Cook might be the biggest beneficiary of that coaching going forward.
I'm sorry man they need skill players on offense. There should be two positions picked. 1. QB 2. WR If a player is going to overdrafted then trade back and get them in the proper slot.
lol you can get a quality receiver in the 2º round and no qb in this draft will have first round value , the more i see mariota the more i see Geno in his shotguns formations lol.
Sorry I wasnt clear. I meant one of those two positions should be picked first. Did not mean round QB and round 2 WR. But if the team can get a game changing WR and didnt get that in free agency, the entire offense is different.
Whats the draft depth at QB for 2016 look like? We need W/R and O/L before we get a new QB or he could get killed straight off. I'd go for Cooper in the first and O/line or CB next.
It's obvious from watching any Jets game. They need a CB or else they'll get shredded every week in perpetuity. They also need a big, outside WR who can stretch the field. Those are by far the weakest areas of this team, outside of QB.
Unless their is a CB prospect that is a once every 10 year kinda guy, it has to be OL... Not the sexy pick but teams are built in the trenches... Lets do this shit the right way.
Not saying it's fool-proof plan but it worked in 2006 with Brick and Mangold. And no more projects with upside. Get day 1 guys with solid fundamentals, if possible.
My pick is Brandon Sherff. I think with where we will end the year around a top ten pick this is very realistic and a good fit. He can play gaurd while D'brick is still here or take over at RT even though I've been more than satisfied with the RT play this year. I think we will miss out on the very top tackles available, but Sherff is a good alternative and very versatile. He can play four positions on the Oline which is important because he will not be taking over at LT day one. I am assuming Harvin will be on this team next year and I am very against taking a WR in the first round in that case. If Cooper or any other WR is the best available we should look to trade down no ifs, ands, or buts about it. I also do not believe we should draft a CB with our first pick as we do not have time to allow a CB to develop, we need an immediate starter via free agency. If its not Oline in the first round it better be for a guy like Randy Gregory who is an ideal fit at OLB and is too good to pass up. If Mariota is there you take him. If Winston is there you take him and never look back.
