people act like this is a "desperation" move for idzik, but i see it as a start to free agency early. the risk wasn't taken on harvin to help with this year, but rather this trade was made with the intent of him being a piece next year potentially
Have the terms been released yet? Currently a 6th round pick but what makes it a possible 5th or 4th?
I agree with all of that but that doesn't mean he can or won't get fired. All it means is he is still doing his job and possibly that he isn't thinking on resigning
wow i didn't realize he hasn't returned a single punt. wonder why? he's dangerous in space, explosive, and has good hands. he's pretty much what i'd look for in a punt returner. has he been tried there before (preseason/practice/etc) with poor results? we desperately need a punt returner. would rather use him there than on kickoffs. maybe that finally gets a look..
GMs don't get fired after year 2 and without any opportunity to bring in their own coach. It simply doesn't happen and it won't happen. Idzik's job was never on the line this season.
this trade shows me that Idzik realizes his job isn't safe... he needs some progress/growth from this season. As of week 7, there hasn't been any.
yeah that's also apart of my reasoning why i think he won't be fired. i'm sure he told woody his plan and that there would be growing pains
I don't know. Something about this trade is awesome. He could be the next coming of Jerry Rice. Am I playing right?
it's absolutely on the line.... the team is no better than the rock bottom of 2012 in terms of talent. he doesn't have the clout for an automatic second chance at coaches and QB.
It's all based on the number of teammates he punches. Zero slugs it's a 4, one teammate it's a 5th and anything more than 1 (could be 6 or 7) it's a 6th. _
there was zero way idzik was getting fired. only impatient morons would come up with that, he hasn't done anything to get the axe. the worse thing he's done is play stubborn with CB's and save cap space, yeah thats a fireable offense for somebody in line of work with long term implications.
I think if he is on the roster on the first day of the 2015 league calender its a fourth, if not its a six. I heard it on the radio but don't have a source.
I mean neither of us know Woody Johnson I assume so we really can't say, but do you really think Woody went into this season concerned about the $20 million in excess cap space? He and Idzik are clearly on the same page, at least for the next season or two. If Idzik's plan doesn't come to fruition then he may get fired, but currently his plan has been playing out (though I'm sure both of them would have liked to see more success this year.) Either way, 2014 was never the year.
Are you sure? Offensive weapons in 2012: Holmes, Hill, Kerley, Greene, Cumberland Offensive weapons in 2014: Decker, Harvin, Kerley, Ivory, Amaro D-Line in 2012: Wilkerson, DeVito, Pouha D-Line in 2014: Wilkerson, Richardson, Harrison LBs in 2012: Scott, Harris, Thomas, Pace LBs in 2014: Davis, Harris, Coples, Pace Not all of those are Idzik's pickups, some just developed from previous regime, but many were obtained by Idzik. You can make an argument that our secondary was better in 2012, but do you really want to stake your argument on Kyle Wilson and a 30 year old Cromartie, who next year was the worst CB in the league?
