Fun fact, in NY Jets history only two coaches have had a greater than 0.500 winning percentage...
    Bill Parcels (29-19 - 0.604)
    Al Groh (9-7 - 0.563)

Prior to this season, Rex was on that list... Now he's 43-44.

But Rex says funny things and acts like a 50 year old frat boy! He makes the Jets relevant (somehow). We need him!

you NEED a 1-6 coach who hasn't reached the playoffs the last 3 seasons? Feel sorry for you.

Rex should get a one way ticket back to Baltimore.

This whole thing has the feel of the Bruce Coslet or Rich Kottite Jets. He's not a HC...Maybe in College he'd be a good HC.

Enough already. Enough of the penalties and enough of the under performing players.

Gotta change the culture and bring in a Task Master....and tell Assclown Woodster to get back in his hole a stay out of the way.

OMG, the only thing coming out of Rex's and Woodster's mouths should be W's. Otherwise they should just keep their phuckin mouths shut

The sooner Rex is gone, the better this team will be next year. Just hope Idzik goes out the door with him. If it takes us losing every game for the rest of the season to get a real GM. HC & QB, I'm for it.

I agree...ASAP. Like yesterday. Let Marty take over for the rest of the year, let and David Lee be OC and Dennis Thurman the DC to finish out this lost season.

It's too bad it didn't work out with Rex. Change is good tho. Enuff already

I'm a Rex fan because he gets the most out of his players and is a great defensive mind BUT an extension is ridicules at this point.

This years debacle as I have said from day 1 is our secondary. The guys we have playing are simply not good enough and Idzik didn't pull the trigger to address it.

There is no way in hell Rex gets the best out of his players. That is complete nonsense. He is responsible for offensive players too.

    +1.

Why do we accept this lack of professionalism? In what high-profile job does the appearance of success equate success itself? In the words of the immortal Tuna: "You are what you are".

I don't know about the taskmaster part; I'd really appreciate somebody who is organized, professional, and runs a tight ship. This is not necessarily a hardass.

That's fair, and I'm you. Your points regarding the attributes of the Leader of the team are on the money. Nowadays a HC has to be an Administrator and CEO. I'M just sick of Rex's lip service, and his players coach style, that essentially pampers the players and affords them to much comfort.

Speakin' of Tuna...that's just the hard ass type i'm looking for.

MAYBE, MAYBE, Woodster can't handle that type person. If that's the case, we're phucked forever

I am a fan of Rex but I don't really care too much at this point whether he gets an extension or not because if he stays we aren't going to get anywhere in a hurry unless we get a good QB on the roster and if he goes we aren't going to get anywhere unless we get a good QB on the roster - the identity of the HC is irrelevant given the state of this team - they get way too much credit when things go well and way too much blame when things go badly -

you could create a frankensteins monster Head Coach out of Walsh, Belichick, Parcells, Landry, Madden and Lombadri and "it" couldn't get this team into the playoffs because there isn't enough talent on the roster - anyone who thinks a change on coaching is going to bring about a quick turn around in the teams fortunes is fooling themselves.

The bolded sums everything up nice and cleanly.

Anyone remember what happened the last time Rex had a team with offensive talent? They were a half away from the Superbowl.

Time will tell what our record is, making predictions this early almost never pans out. I'm just optimistic.

You can call Rex my boyfriend, you can act like you have it all figured out on these forums when you talk to others, I see your posts, you come off as uneducated when it actually comes to football talk. You try to belittle, ridicule, and act superior to everyone on this board. Most people see right through your uneducated posts.

You come at posters with irrelevant stances and one liners that never sustain a good argument. How do you expect other educated posters to take that seriously?

I appreciate your opinion, as uneducated as they are (you try), it's just that because of the way you act on these forums. I can't take those opinions seriously.

I'm sure you could have a lot to offer this forum, I encourage it, I'm just suggesting you chill out with always trying to belittle others. Do as you will though. Life is full of freewill and choice.

    Good day.

The Jets with this talent level will NOT be dominating anyone this year. I'm thinking, lets see if we can squeak out a couple more wins.

A change at head coach would likely mean we would not draft defense #1 every year and waste high picks on guys like Coples playing new positions. REX is a large part of why the offense stinks--you act like he just got the job and was stuck with a bad offense. Rex is the idiot who help build this disaster the last 6 years and who tattooed butt fumble's number to his body--Shows you his ability to judge talent.
