When Idzik has the "Rex Ryan is fired" press conference I'm going to record it so I can watch it over and over. It will be one of the few enjoyable moments I will get as a fan of this team

Sanchez with a fully repaired shoulder in the second year of the WCO would have at worse make this a .500 team even without Harvin. With Harvin, we're competing for the division title IMO and easily making the playoffs. Once in the dance, maybe Sanchez's playoff "luck" continues.

the real question is what idiot gm drafts 12 players and cuts 5 of them and still fails to fix the biggest two holes on the team in wr and db going into the year with 21 million dollars in cap space.
That is the gm that gets fired

Rex may not even get fired. To be honest, he doesn't deserve to with the team he's been handed this season.

It's funny, the same 4 or 5 dopes that keep saying it was a desperation move can't answer the question. You fit right in.

    Facts:
    1) this goes against idzik's philosophy on building through the draft to attain long term cost efficient sustainable success.
    2) jets are on the hook for just 7mill this season and are not stuck with his contract as it is not guaranteed.
    3) Harvin is injury prone and is more than likely to be off the field than on it.
    4) at 10.5 - 11 mil salary cap, why would idzik of all people want a good chunk of his salary cap to be on an oft-injured player?
    5) jets schedule lightens up but they are pretty much out of contention this season but more evaluation needs to happen I.e is geno worth passing up on mariota, Winston...is rex worth it etc.

    My analysis on this trade

Idzik did not do this trade because he thought Harvin is going to be part of the long term plan. This trade was done to give jets more talent for a short term evaluation of Geno and at the same time get the media off his back. Jets are only on the hook for a 4th round pick and the rest of Harvin's contract this year (7mil). Just 7 mil! and 7 mil and a 4th round pick is a drop in the bucket when compared to figuring out if geno smith is worth passing up on two potential franchise qbs (Mariota and Winston). Unless Harvin restructures significantly, I bet my last dollar Harvin will not be in a jets uniform after this year. You think penny pinching idzik is gonna get stuck with damaged goods in Harvin when he could have had Desean Jackson at around the same cap figure or less. Come on, this is idzik we are talking about. Although he has made some terrible draft selections, the man has a plan and his plan is long term sustainable success which is a complete contradiction in locking up a high cap oft injured player in Harvin. In other words do not buy a Harvin jersey cause he won't be here for long.

When they have no good arguments to say, they resort to stuff like that, lol

Not re this post specifically, more about your posts in general.
Maximus, you need to be banned. You're too level-headed and objective. Your posts contradict the spirit of a good third of this joint. :)

In all seriousness, the only thing not to like about this trade is that it would be better if it happened earlier. The only reason why it did is because Harvin was not available earlier.

I swear if Jets win a SB after a long-fought game on an overtime TD pass, half of this fanbase will bitch that we won on Monday AM instead of on Sunday like any real team would.

Um, what question? The question is "why do this at 1-6?" Answer: trying to maintain some relevancy and stay on the back page of the paper. And when Harvin plays two games and then is out for the season that will be that. Good try!

The media and fans are RIGHT! They ARE clowns!!!! Rex Ryan may be a lot of things but he certainly didn't deserve to have his GM hang his ass out to dry this off season with no help in the secondary and no additional help on offense. Idzik gambled on a shit load of nobodies and it burned him...hard! You can have $21 million all day long in the bank but if the team you field blows so bad your ass is on the unemployment line the next year...now what, exactly, did that $21 large buy him? Harvin may turn out to be a fantastic "get" for the Jets in the long run...but he absolutely isn't going to save this team this year...bank on that. He's going to be good for a gadget play or two but blah blah blah...and that is IF the god damn TD's count!!! We are quite good at having points ripped off the board by some bonehead penalty...so, yeah....

And guys like Jetsfan and Legler wonder why we can't find a good QB. Just draft another QB, put him into this shit situation, and then they'll complain that he sucks.

Give Geno good talent at the skill positions, and I'd guarantee he'd do fine.

You going to hid behind gifs like a clown, or will you actually post something of relevancy?
