Ther should be no nail in Rex's coffin. We have the worst gm in football, who 2 years in a row has set rex up to fail. 20 million in Un used cap space... Idzik should be fired, the job is beyond him.
5-4 the rest of the way is reasonable to imagine I could see us winning the next 2, getting the fans a little exited about potentially going into the bye at 4-6, then lose at home to Pitt. Would follow the pattern
There is still reason to watch this team. They obviously looked better than they have all year last night, but can they keep improving against weaker competition? Or will they quit fighting, sealing Rex Ryan's departure? They need a big win against Buffalo next week just to get back on the right track.
We can win a few of them, I doubt we finish as a one win team. I could see winning 3 or 4 of those games.
I remember the Old Giants stadium was loud, the new one sucks. even when its packed its quiet. The Nassau Collesium was the loudest stadium/arena I have ever been to I was there for all 3 playoff games there.
Yeah, very true. Every game is really a toss up when you don't know what Jets team is going to show up. Having said that, maybe a (4-5) or (5-4) finish to the season is the most likely.
Remember we tend to play down to or up to the level of our competition. We dominated the Raiders and barely won. So I don't see any definite wins with this team.
Shouldn't be yet. Many teams have made the playoffs at 10-6, 9-7, 8-8 and even the 7-9 Seahawks. I could see the team having that let down after an 8th loss though for sure.
But, the schedule also does not have a single game the Jets can't lose. Every team that our fan base is looking at as beatable has a fan base that is looking at our team as beatable. They are a "beatable" team for us and we are a "beatable" team for them. I agree with your basic premise, but I have my serious doubts that this team could be consistently good enough to get on a serious role. We are very evenly matched with basically all of those teams.
7-2 over the last 9 games will be enough to save Rex's job in my opinion. That's a genuine run, and I can't see them firing Rex after that, not to mention it's pretty likely Geno has played well enough to get another year if we go 7-2. I think this narrative that Idzik is intentionally tanking so he can get his own coach is absolute garbage, and I think if Idzik could hold together his current coaching staff and see genuine promise in his QB, that's the best thing he could hope for. I don't know if this is going to happen, but I think it's possible.
I know you're kidding, but a 10-6 record at the end of this year would probably make this the single most fun season to watch in the history of the Jets. We'd be talking about it for decades.
I see 4-5 at best out of that schedule. They always play to the level of their comp. Most likely 3-6 and finish the season at 4-12. Either way you look at it, the record sucks.
7-2, which no matter what our schedule is the rest of the way, is extremely unlikely for a team that started the season 1-6, still would only leave us at 8-8. The owner explicitly said before the season that another 8-8 season wouldn't be good enough.
