...for the tremendous fight and never-say-die spirit of this team, in the face of tremendous adversity and against all odds. Idzik tried to break Rex this offseason by gutting the team, and Rex just won't go down!!! How can you not root for a coach like this! Fire Idzik for undermining this team, which would be 4-2 at least with a decent secondary, if Idzik did his job in the offseason!!!
Is Rex willing to be a Head Coach or a glorified Defensive Coordinator with a Head Coach's hat on? He relies everything on offense with others...If he had that fire and ability to lead on offense we would be in better shape. Idzik is a huge dumbass for this offseason and failures to acquire more players
This is a joke? You don't give a contract extension to a coach that is 1-5, has lost 5 straight and hasn't had a winning season in 3 years. And I like Rex Ryan
What's frustrating is the team is 1 CB and 1 WR short of being a borderline playoff team. Idzik could've easily went out there and got DJax and whatever CB he wanted (didnt have to overpay for DRC) and this team is in a totally different spot right now. I dont agree with a Rex extension but its clear he should not be the one to go.
Multiple GM's, OC's, DC's, and QB's, yet the same problems remain. It's not entirely Rex's fault, but it's time for new leadership.
It was not a good game. It was a loss. 1-6 Contract extension for playing hard and not quitting. They all get paid millions NOT to quit. Clock/game management was horrible AGAIN. Let's stop with the free passes already.
And just to add to this. We still would've had a shit ton of cap space for next offseason. Nearly 60 million to spend next offseason and we're fooling ourselves if we think Idzik is going to spend more than half of that. Unless we go out and get Dez or Demaryius then this past offseason was pointless. And Im not so sure Idzik signs Decker if Revis doesnt go to New England.
Agreed. ... I had to counteract that stupid "Fire Rex" post that popped up after this heroic effort by the Jets that fell just short, one week after we nearly upset Denver, and of course if Idzik did his job this offseason and signed even one of the FA corners available we would probably be 4-2 or at least 3-3 right now.
Arguably the most important task of the head coach is to get the team fired up and ready to play, and maybe nobody in the NFL does that better than Rex. Many coaches would have lost the locker room by now, but the players love Rex and will keep fighting til the end for him. They are not stupid, they know they can win with him if stupid Idzik would give this team a fighting chance! ...but I agree, if they stupidly relieve Rex of his HC duties hopefully they will at least keep him around as the DC.
