Hey Jay.... are you familiar with this "super typhoon" that they are expecting to hit Japan this weekend. Honestly glad it's up there and not down here in the tropics.

Super Typhoon Vongfong, in the western Pacific Ocean, is the Earth's strongest storm so far this year. It's also the planet's most powerful storm since 2013's Super Typhoon Haiyan, which killed thousands in the Philippines last November.
Vongfong's winds are now about 170 mph, down slightly from a peak Tuesday of 180 mph. It's still equivalent to a Category 5 hurricane.
As of 11 a.m. ET Wednesday, the eye of Vongfong was just under 600 miles south-southeast of Kadena Air Base on Okinawa, and was moving northwest at 8 mph, the Weather Channel reported.
Typhoons are the same type of storm as hurricanes; they're called typhoons in the western Pacific Ocean.
After passing near the island of Okinawa later this week, a much weakened version of Vongfong should come close to South Korea and Japan in a few days, according to the Joint Typhoon Warning Center.
The worst impacts across mainland Japan from Vongfong are expected from Monday into Tuesday, AccuWeather predicts. Typhoon-force winds and inundating rainfall are likely.
Vongfong comes on the heels of Typhoon Phanfone, which hit Japan last weekend, killing at least seven people and leaving four missing.
Vongfong passed through U.S. islands in the Marianas earlier this week, but little damage was reported.
Government officials in Guam, Saipan, Rota, and Tinian reported minor storm damage from the typhoon, which had maximum sustained winds of 105 mph as it moved through the islands early Monday.
Another storm, Tropical Cyclone Hudhud, is spinning in the Bay of Bengal; it's forecast to hit the east coast of India with Category 3 intensity Sunday.
Tropical cyclones are the same type of storms as hurricanes and typhoons. Those that form in the Indian Ocean are called tropical cyclones.
While ferocious, Vongfong is giving weather fans a feast of fantastic satellite and other computer-generated images, a few of which are below:

    Amazing..2 in a week BB.

What is the town you are staying now? Will you be there for at least the next month? This time of the year is a potential tropical nightmare down there...give me the town so I can pull some stuff.

I'm in Manila, we had two storms on back to back weekends about a month ago but they were just heavy rains. 10 inches in 24 hours in some parts of the city. Manila is massive though, there are like 20 million people that live here. I'm actually in Makati City which is about 5 miles from the airport.

In case anyone is wondering where Jay went, he had to take care of some business which requires 100% of his attention. He'll be back when he gets back.

big winds this weekend, sunday going to bring 20mph plus gusts maybe in the 30's. if you have been waiting for all the leaves to fall before you rake, this weekend should do it.
