One positive is that he found his stride with AMARO it seems. Him and kerley along with a run heavy offense this week can get it done.

Playing hard for Rex seems to be a bit of a wild card going into this game. I think the Jets played hard against Denver when they looked totally out of it in San Diego. Don't we all agree on that? It's not a moral victory thing I am talking about, more a question which team will show up. Ray Lucas noted correctly in the post game show that really it was the SD game that is an aberration, despite the 1-5 record. In all the ohter games the team did show up and play fairly hard.

And it is a hated divsional opponent. And Ryan did get the players to play for him hard down the stretch last year.

It says here this is a different year, and I really am concerned the team is about to run out of gas. Ryan himself sounds dispirited. I think he came up with a great game plan against Denver for the D, but the O right now is beyond a coaching effort to make it a winner. Ryan doesn't really understand the O, anyway, and so that explains how he looks so perplexed now.

A perplexed coach who at times spouts nonsense like saying this week the 13 draft was A+ eventually will undermine support in the locker room. I have to wonder whether this is the week for that. Sure they are not flying across the country and facing a super hot Philip Rivers. Brady is a bit banged up, and Mayo out may hurt their run D. So it's not going to be 31-0.

But I have to wonder when they start turnign out the lights on this season in the Jet locker room. Short week, more controversy involving Smith, Rex looking beaten...

    It's not good.

In terms of the controversy involving Geno. Its stupid. I doubt the team even listens or cares about what Manish says as you see players refusing to answer his questions.

I think the rain could play a huge factor as it should slow down the passing games and play into the Jets defensive strength against New England (run D).

I used to say play into the Jets offense as well but they seem to not be running the ball well this season. Maybe playing Aboushi will help.

Garoppol actually looks like he can play as opposed to Mallet who was a stiff with an arm.

The Patriots should win this one if only because the Jets are a mess right now BUT the Jets always play the Patriots tough. If the Jets go 2-14 and one of the wins is against New England it's seems it's not a total loss of a season for the team.

The D line for the Jets will give the Patriots trouble. But if they can't get to Brady enough it won't matter.

See the Jets being a mess is a bit overplayed, not saying that they arent in a bad spot, but theyve really only been blown out once. They've lost 4 games by one score (including Green Bay, Chicago, Denver and Detroit) excluding garbage time points, and SD is an aberration. I would not expect a blowout, but you never know with the Pats smelling blood to crush the Jets season.

Rex typically motivates against the Patriots quite well and he is very good with motivating back against the wall. I would say if I see them play as I expect win or lose the Bills game is going to be a dud for them as Rex sucks at week after big motivation. Who knows what way the Jets come out, but with the season on the line I doubt they lay down.

The game will be won and lost with the offensive lines. We shall see which one plays better.

I am curious to see how Satan sets up his defense to cover Amaro seeing as the Jets are going to try to use him as a weapon (assuming Marty doesnt go full retardo). Also, am interested to see how Kerley plays and who he is covered by.

I also expect Marty to go full retardo and not throw to Amaro or run the ball in the rain.

Finally, if the Patriots are truthful with the injury policy (fat chance) and Brady does truly have an ankle injury, playing in the rain on a wet field could be poor for them.

First of all it was not just Mehta, but putting that aside.

I can see a real driving rain hurting an otherwise effective passing attack, but that means the wind is as much a factor as the water. But short of that a wet field hurts the D as much as the receivers, and they keep the ball dry, so I don't hold much hope out that rain will win it for the jets.

Nope it wasnt. But you saw the sensible beat writers take a step back and even criticize Manish.

Agree on the rain, may not allow d line to be as explosive at the snap.

Mixed in with the games playing the Pats close and even the ones beating them bad, there have been ones under Ryan where the Jets did not show up. The Jets are perfectly capable of laying down against NE. They have done so in years where they had a better team.

Not that I am predicting that to happen this week. As you rightly say, and I did earlier, the Jets have really only been out of the SD game. And NE has some injury issues.

Still, I predict a Jet loss.

I agree actually. The Jets always get up for the Patriots. The front 7 of Jets D is their strength and Ryan will go out of his way to figure out something for Brady. If the weather is truly bad that will help the Jets. So I always expect a close game with Jets. I usually assume they'll split the season schedule. The key is whether Brady has enough time to throw. I think he's starting to get his groove back with the offense. Suddenly it's more than 30 throws to Edelman. If Gronk is back 90% he's causes problems all over the place. If you don't cover him well he'll burn you and you do, it allows other players like Lafell, Wright and this Tyms guy to get open.

No, tired of "they played hard," but we lost song.

And Ryan did get the players to play for him hard down the stretch last year. oh yes, to a spine chilling 8-8 record

Yes, let's look at the options of other team's schedule and losses as a means to pretend we are still competitive and hanging in there. When you have to rely on others to do it for you, you go NOWHERE.

Do players get fined if they dont talk to the media?

Not trying to stick up for Geno here but why would players continue to speak to these dweebs?

This is kinda dumb.. every team in every division would have to look at their division opponents wins and losses for multiple reasons, it matters. But i never even said anything about relying on them i was just predicting what could happen over these next few weeks realistically... if we win these next two games we'll have the best division record at 2-0 regardless of what the other teams do (feel better now?). I just threw in the extra possibilities to back up why i said we'd have new life. Your speaking as if it was the end of the season and i said we need 2 teams to win a certain game and a tie from another game or something to make the playoffs. Not getting your logic. Remember were not even half way through the season yet sir.
