All of that is ridiculously dumb but what does that have to do with his abilities as a QB? Because at this point this team needs some fuckin talent at the position not another JAG with "intangibles"

Talent is great..... Unless he's in Jail..... Cause this time he actually did rape someone...... Look at all he potentially has in front of him..... And he can't take a week and not do something against the rules....... Is that the example you want for this team? Cause he will be the face of the team if we take him....,

the "face of the team" stuff I couldn't care any less about. Staying out of jail - yes, that's important. But that's not too hard. He could mature enough to the point where he can be trusted to at least stay out of jail at the bare minimum and be an incredible QB in this league.

NFL teams go wrong picking QBs by worrying too much about that "face of the franchise" stuff and not enough about their ability to play football. Who cares how a kid interviews. You aren't hiring him to be smart and articulate, you are hiring him to complete passes and score TDs. Mark Sanchez was a great interview. He was everything you want in a face for your franchise- - except that one pesky thing about accuracy and in-game decision making.

also - take a look at this link below. Now, obviously rape allegations for Winston are a little more serious than a young Peyton Manning's sexual assault allegation/settlement (but not singing an obscene song)
--but in regards to your "face of a franchise" stuff.. don't you think that if Manning's case was to happen in 2014 that people would question Manning as a face of their franchise?
I think it would be a HUGE deal today and probably effects his draft stock. How dumb is that?

I like next years QB class, and conversely, I dont much care for this years class.

Mariota could be something good, but I think he would bomb here for the same reasons Geno did. Mariota is a better player to be sure, but he is a spread QB who plays in a one read offense. He could have the skills and just hasnt had to show them yet, but that isnt a number 1 pick to me. That is a project. A later round pick. He'd get eaten alive by this OLine.

I like Winston's natural ability, but he's a headcase and certainly not the type of player Idzik will draft. I'd pass on him as well, unless he fell far, which he wont.

Cooke I like as a 2nd day pick. I'm not sure where teams are looking at him, but with a top 5 pick, I'd stay away.

I'm looking at OL and WR with the 5th pick. Set the team up so that the eventual QB (draft or FA) comes into a good situation, as opposed to what we did to Geno and Sanchez after year 2.

I see where you are going but the post was way off mark. You can't cut short a career that is already over or one that had no shot to ever happen. Brett Favre went on to have his greatest years (stats wise) with the Vikings. Vick couldn't get a job with any other team and sucked to begin with, explaining why he was unemployed. Brunell was more of a coach than a player by time he came to the Jets. Most the list never had the ability to even have a career, let alone to have a career cut short.
You over exaggerated with "promising" and "tragically". What is tragic is the fact that this is the best the Jets have had in decades.

What? You posted a collection of QBs who were already past their prime or never had potential to drive your agenda. Have fun losing to Rich Rod and Sarkisian every year.

Put Kaeperdick on a team that isn't completely loaded on every side of the ball and he's Mark Sanchez

Don't forget Patrick Ramsey! What a stud that guy was going to be before we ruined him... Shame.
