If Hoyer continues Dominating in Cleveland is there any possibility the Jets try to go for Manziel? -Under a new coach and a slew of New FA's It could be a fresh start? Curious to hear your opinions...
This would be the most Jets move I could think of. It would of course be compounded by taking a CB in the first round of the draft.
Not sure if it's a "Jets" move or not, it all depends on price. Not sure he's a good fit. Why not go after Hoyer?
Here is the only scenario I could see it happening in. Jets have the 3rd pick in the draft. Browns have the 18th pick in the draft. Jets send the #3 overall pick and their #35 overall pick to the Browns. Browns send the #18 overall pick, Manziel, and Josh Gordon to the Jets. The Browns then can draft Amari Cooper as their #1 receiver because they are sick of Gordon. The Jets then can still get a CB with the #18 pick and also have a new QB and new #1 WR.
Because Manziel could possibly survive the media and NYC lifestyle when he can't even stay under the radar in Cleveland.
I think we need to increase our scouting budget so that we can check the medical records of our draft picks. And yes I would trade for Johnny Football.
That would be a very Jets-like move. Get the human backpage and WR with 4 strikes on him instead of doing the right thing.
Hoyer isn't going to be available if the Browns keep winning and he's playing well. The best thing that could happen to Johnny Manziel is he has to watch for a couple of years before he gets to play. Maybe 3 years.
I know right? awful move. thats a terrible move. Just speaking hypothetically, why would we pass up on a top 10 WR prospect for a WR with loads of off field baggage and a young QB so undesirable that the team that drafted him views him as expendable? (who has no experience to boot?) a first rounder their second rounder and another conditional pick would be better than Manziel and gordon. Also, to everybody where who thinks thats a good idea, why the hell would Manziel be an answer to anything? Like I said he has NO experience starting in the NFL, I'd rather his veteran fellow brown hoyer as an alternative to Smith than Manziel.
So the Browns will get a stud receiver that will actually play and an early 2nd round pick while we get a guy that is bound to be banned in the near future and an unproven QB whom we passed on last year. Brilliant
exactly! in that particular scenario we just get the receiver, or draft Mariota if available. If we're trading its for MORE picks and NO current players if anything.
