You guys wanna change GMs every 2 years. Sports doesn't work that way.

Yep. Even though Rex has been put in spots to fail the last 2 years, I think it's time..

No. Constant changing does not help. With has spent drafts building for his defence. If we was to fire him now a new system might be brought in and we would be all over the place.

I want him to get one more year. Spend the cap money on some offensive talent and get a couple of corners and go again.

I believe so. But I think he is on the hook for the difference in the contracts not the entire thing.

He's now the best CB on injured reserve in the NFL

I'm not one of the guys who thinks everyone deserves every chance in the world-- but I do think that if the Jets move on from Rex, he will find success elsewhere, and we will keep finding futility for a very long time. And a lot of people who are calling for his head now will be lamenting "the good old days" of Sexy Rexy.

Hardly. Can't look back on complete and abject failure and lament. Rex is horrible. Iszik is horrible. Bradway and our scouting department is horrible. They ALL need to go.

With all due respect to his playoff wins, he has no division titles, no conference titles, no SB titles, 2 winning seasons in 6 years and what will clearly be a sub 500 record as head coach. It says a lot about the futility of this organization that we may think of Rex's years as "glory years".

Rex is an average defensive coordinator and a terrible head coach.
It's time to lose a lotta for Mariota!

Except those blitz packages are so unpredictable that even fans don't know what they're looking at...

A lot of those "blitzes" are disguised four man rushes with 6-7 players in coverage. Sometimes he blitzes to keep the threat real, but Rex's actual blitzing % is not too far from the norm.

So many fans act like it's still 2009. It's the biggest myth in here.

What are you talking about? "His defense" is built on having his two stupid "shut down" corners. we don't have any of that. All these picks youre talking about have resulted in two players...wilk and Sheldon. IM pretty sure ANY defensive system ever instituted requires a couple d lineman...that's all we got. This idea that has been thrown around for far too long is that somehow RR is the only guy who can coach this defense.

Look I don't pretend to know my Xs and Os. But when a team sends everyone in on a 3rd down play after stopping them for two downs and gives up big pass plays on 3rd and long consistently even I can figure it out. The proof is in the results and his D schemes haven't worked.

But that's the thing...the jets AREN'T blitzing on 3rd down about half the time. It only looks that way. There are some clips of this that are shocking.

Seriously doubt that. He has acted like an asshole from the start. The list is way too long on and off the field.

It's time, guys. I was/am a huge Rex guy and love the guy, but it's time to get him out of here.

This is my point. The Jets have a whopping 14 playoff appearances in their whole history, and 6 of them are under this coach. Maybe my years of watching the pre-Rex jets have ruined my expectations. Or maybe I was just hoping for some kind of stability from this organization for the first time in my entire life, and for quite some time before that.

If Rex goes, there should be a huge spotlight on woody johnson. As clueless as woody is sometimes, even he can't believe that they fielded the best team for rex to compete with this year and accurately grade him on. The fact that we're competitive at times is a complete miracle in itself with this talent. Our qb is below-average and regressing, o-line is extremely underwhelming and pourous, our wide receiver core is among the worst in the league, and our CB's consists of a bunch of free agents, UDFA & disappointing first round picks.

We simply don't have the talent to win right now, simple as that.
