started this thread to discuss the draft already because there is no doubt we will be 1-6…we need a QB..going 3-13 or 4-12 will only net us a pass rusher or a wr with nobody to throw him too i happen to like Marcus Mariota.. I've seen a lot of people on this forum say they don't like him. and wait another year to draft a QB. discuss
I'm of the mindset that we should draft QB's every year till we find one lol. It's such an important position. What sucks is taking a guy, being unsure about him and then waisting multiple years with him trying to make it work.
We would never be lucky enough to get the first pick. We'd be far more likely to win a few pointless games and get the third or fourth overall and pick some absolutely turd of a pick.
I don't follow college that closely, is there an injury prone cornerback that is good enough to take with our #1 pick???
I'll be shocked if we get the #1 pick. We still play MIN, BUF x2, MIA x2, TEN. 2-3 wins in those 6 games doesn't get you a #1 pick
I disagree completely. A losers mentality is a losers mentality. Yeah we could get lucky and get a pro-bowler but more than likely getting the first overall pick will delay any success for another 5 years. Whether or not Rex is fired, an 8-8 Jets team is 7 games better off than a 1-15 team. The Cowboys of the AFC east is a pretty grim existence, but at least it's better than the Jags.
3-13...Buffalo is better, and Miami is better. Possible wins in Minny and maybe Tennessee. Could get 1 division win, but I can also see Tennessee winning. I'm sticking with 3-13, the offense is so bad that they make the defense even worse than they are. Rex is done. New potential coach gets Top 5 pick, lots of cap room, and some decent pieces. Anyone hoping for 8-8 is being delusional.
There's rooting for an 8-8 team, and there is accepting that this team isn't good enough to be close to 8-8.
The Jets won't be sniffing the #1 pick this year. We aren't good, but we aren't a total disaster either. We have lost to the Packers, Bears, Lions, and Broncos by 7 each, beat a bad Oakland team, and got smashing by a great Charger team. If I had to guess right now, I would say we end up picked about 7th and have a 5-11 to 6 - 10 record.
The Browns were 4-12 last year and picked 8th overall. Once you hit the 4-win mark tiebreakers become a real big factor in where you're picking, and I'm not sure where we match up against other currently low-end teams from a strength of schedule perspective. I also don't think a 4-win season is unreasonable by any means.
