Funny, the reports are coming out about how the fumble call was 100% right and espn is apologizing for Mike Carey's remarks. Didn't notice this at the time, but they even rejected to here his opinion on the fumble to end the game by Fitzpatrick.
that whole trend to bring in old referees to provide "clarification" is stupid as hell. Carey is the worst by far but that talking head on FOX and I think ESPN has one are JAGs as well. I have no respect for them. The guy on FOX is such a tool too. all he does is kiss the asses of the current referees and yet was extremely critical to the replacement refs that one year. And Carey is just always dumb.
The funniest thing was how sure he was on that call. He even said "don't worry fellas, this will get called back" I mean, what a moron. It's one thing saying how you think it will be called, but to be that sure and be so wrong is disturbing. He just made himself look like an idiot on national television. Both teams and Andre Johnson all knew it was a fumble. Johnson was throwing his helmet on the sideline and not one person argued the call lol
Commentators in general are useless if you are a hardcore fan. Think about, guys like Nantz and Simms are there to explain what is happening, well if you know whats happening, you dont to hear their voice. I wish there was an option to mute them all, I dont need to hear their input. (I kinda like Aikmans because he has experience stuff that only a QB can but some of these guys are just frustrating to listen to). ESPNs coverage is the absolute worse, Gruden and Tirico SMH.
Well you're right to a certain extent. The thing is when watching broadcasted games, us, viewers, do not get a look at the secondary or routes being ran by a WR , and or why miscues or blown coverages occured. And although the color commentator make errors while briefly breaking down the play, they do give a better overiew of a play during the broadcast as they are watching " the all 22" or coaches flim . I'm just glad the NFL made coaches flim public, if used correctly Rewind is an awesome product, especially for concerns of which you mentioned above.
True but down the road we will be able to get every angle. Actually I believe NBC provides every angle online during the game but its in a delay because its online so I can essentially align them. (I would need to have DVR and pause the game for a couple seconds perhaps? not worth the trouble....)
Yep, the Eagles have to win this game Sunday. If they lose I think there season might come apart. Their defense is not doing good, their offense is not clicking. The loss of Jackson has caused the LBs and Safeties to pay more attention to the run game because Maclins and Mathews are just not the same deep threat. McCoy is getting more attention now and he is struggling because of both that and just not playing as well. Its putting a lot of pressure on Foles who has not played as well as he did last year (we all saw this coming, his numbers were off the charts last year so he had to regress). Their saving grace right now is that they are 4-1 so if they can go 6-4 the rest of the way they would be in position for a playoff spot. They do go to the Meadowlands week 17 so if the Giants do win Sunday, they would just have to remain within a game of the Eagles either way you cut it. I still think Dallas is winning the division but it does look like the NFC East will be getting 2 teams in the playoffs.
Good post. It should be a good game. Really hope the Giants pull it out. I think the Giants got the edge on defense and i think they have more depth at offense too. Really hoping Beason plays
If ya put a gun to my head right now, I think the Giants are winning Sunday. Its going to be a disgusting feeling if the Jets lose and Giants win and head to Dallas for a huge division game. The Jets will become an afterthought in NY while the Giants fans will be preaching Super Bowl....=/
I hope they win. Superbowl? Lmao there is a LOT of football left dude. If we win and Giants fans mention superbowl, they must be giant jerkoffs. There are 10 weeks over football left
McCoy looks bottled up but Sproles doesn't. Other than that there is a lot of playa hatin being thrown at the Eagles. Their D is a lot better than you think. They are playing a new breed of football.
You do realize the Eagles offense has scored a total of 11 TD's this season in 5 games? They've kicked 10 FG's in 5 games, that's an average of 21.4 points a game...the TEAM is averaging over 30 points a game....but 1/3 of their points have come from defensive and special teams scores.
The Patriots at Bills will be an interesting game to re-watch, there is no way the Pats let Orton do much of anything. Buffalo's defense better be outstanding if they are going to have a shot at winning this. The good news for them is that it's in Orchard Park and the Patriots interior line isn't very good. I have to think Kyle Williams and Marcel Dareus are going to be making Brady's life very difficult. If the Jets can't win the division, I'd want the Bills to do it any day. If I'm being honest with myself I I think the Pats will take it yet again. I really don't see the Dolphins beating the Packers, the only way it happens is a couple freak plays like special teams turnovers or tipped pick 6's or something. The Giants-Eagles game will probably be the best game of the week, so I'm glad it's Sunday night, and I hope I get the Cowboys-Seahawks game where I am.
no idea why Buffalo triple covered Tyms, and even less of an idea why Brady threw into it touchdown anyway
