I'd like to see him go too. Beating him is as easy as spiking on 1st and 2nd down, 3rd and long...touchdown.

Who is saying they would be hired mid-season? In the history of the NFL has a coordinator from another team been hired away as a head coach mid season?

Rex's defense would be elite against our stable of great QB's :p

The argument could be made that the softest team still on our schedule are the New York Jets..

The point here is that cap flexibility is not an end in itself. It is, or can be, a means to achieve an end that also requires other elements be present. The strategy you refer to as I pointed out also requires the ability to evaluate talent. Idzik so far has not shown he has that ability.

The other point is that Idzik's defenders in effect argue that where he is now is entirely by design. In fact Idzik's cap space was achieved partly by default, in large part by default, since he DID try and sign players such as DRC, but failed. Meanwhile the Jets have a gaping hole at CB, and are too thin at wideout and are invested in a shitty starting Qb. I say no thanks to more of the "strategy" that is producing these "results."

Flippin rich that a GM who didn't go out and get what the HC needs for the season is the one who could pull the trigger on Rex.
I don't know any HCs that could work with this roster.
Its outrageous that with all that cap room we didn't get anyone, and if I were Rex would start to distance myself from Idzek.
Its all very well building to a 'Seattle' game-plan, but you still make sure you're still as competitive as you can be, we're not and THAT is on Idzek and arguably Woody.
I'd also like to throw the draft scouts under the bus as well, useless!

Idzik didn't punt the ball when down a TD and in need of the ball to tie the game. Idzik didn't create such a clusterfuck of a sideline that the OC couldn't even talk to the coach to ask if he could call a TO. Idzik hasn't run practices that two players have come out and questioned, including long time leader Nick Mangold, and have a third admit he wasn't even prepared to play.

    No.

Side note: Nothing irks me more than when Giants fans call the radio to talk about the Jets. "Hey [insert radio host name] I'm a Giants, but I think the Jets should…" STFU!!! Who the fuck stays on hold for minutes upon hours to talk about a team that you are not a fan of? That's some weird shit.

Both are good points, I just feel it is too early to come to a definitive conclusion with Idzik's talent evaluation, though his drafts certainly have left something to be desired.

You see those points, they are inarguable and damning, and yet people continue to sing Ryan's praises. It boggles the mind.

It's not a good situation, but I'm not at liberty to discuss it. I don't like it, but I can't discuss it. Dey told me not to comment on it, but I don't like it, okay. Dey have soccah on instead of me! But I can't tawk about it.

I agree. That is very weird, especially when they call to insult them. I never understood the hate between the two so yeah

A lot of times it's not even to insult but to provide their opinions on and/or their suggestions on what the Jets should do. I have a hard with this since I'm so completely indifferent about the Giants. and every other team for that matter I can't imagine ever calling in a radio station to talk Giants football.

Fair enough, but I see no reason to think Idzik will do better as time goes on. Regarding your critique of Ryan, I do not think the question of who is responsible for problems is an either/or decision. There's plenty of responsibility to go around, including Woody, the players as well as Ryan and Idzik.

Absolutely. Rex is coaching with pretty glaring deficiencies at key positions. That being said the guy is clearly running a messy ship. His tactical decisions are suspect and his preparation is clearly awful.

Maybe, just maybe if the team wasn't put in such a position to lose these points would be moot.
