Johnson is quite obviously done. He is a shadow of his pre-injury self. There is no explosiveness left in his legs.

I don't disagree, but I still don't see how his addition makes the sixth ranked running game last year into one of the worst five.

He's not completely done, but in the situation he is in, he might as well be. He's still got a decent burst and a second gear, but you can't run him up the middle effectively when the defense knows you are running the ball.

And if you want to run him effectively to the edges, you have to be able to set that up with a QB that can sell play actions prior to attempting it, and Geno can barely count his own steps in a passing play.

As far as screens go, the defense always spies the QB, and Shaky Jake has glue on his eyes since week 2.

Johnson isn't done, but he's as good as done with this team.

The strength of the Jets is their defense but because of poor coaching it's a weakness, too.

Well that may be true. The lack of effective game planning and solid QB play would make even an effective back look like crap. If he does have something left it's even more of a shame because then he's being wasted.

Wouldn't be the first time this particular coaching staff wasted talent with a bad game plan.
