I could see the Rams drafting Mariota if they're in a position to. Austin Davis could be a flash in the pan for all the good he's done up to this point, and Sam Bradford is likely moving on.
Of course, the jets can't even correlate a 4-12 season with the QB talent pool coming out of college. Same ole jets!!
We missed the Qb boat again Jil. 2014 was the draft class so of course, we draft our QBoTF in 2013 and on top of that, we draft him in the second round so we could have a stronger defense. Typical Jet thinking (or lack thereof).
Dez Bryant would be a tremendous signing for this team. I really respect his passion for football. He would be great in the cold northeast too because of his physical style of play. I doubt he becomes available though, but if he does, man the Jets better go hard after him.
I am by no means a cap expert but I was genuinly curious if theyd be able to sign him or even tag him based upon their cap situation. I read the cap hit on a WR tag is $13 million and I doubt Dez is signing a team friendly deal. There is no team that would have more cap this offseason than the Jets. Bryant, Decker, Kerley, Amaro, Ivory and hopefully a round 1 QB and 2nd round o-linemen and the Jets are cookin. Then spend some money on an OLB and CB.
Titans fans are calling for the same thing though "Suck for the Duck" is what they're calling it. Can we just suck for one year and get the QB we finally need? The Jets will screw this up I know it. They will go 6-10 and act like they were world beaters because they had a good 2nd half of the season. Rex stays. We draft another defensive player in the first round and Idzik goes out and gets the most washed up player on offense he could find. Oh yeah don't forget about the raw offensive prospects that look amazing on paper, but never pan out. It's gonna happen....
Im a noles fan and this guy is a tool...a lot of folks around the NFL have claimed the jets have had dumpster fires, draft Winston and through gas on the fire. I have to admit it would be fun to watch him in the NY press.
1st he is not the best QB in college, he is the QB of the best team in college. 2nd he has a lot of baggage which keeps getting bigger every week. If the Jets drafted Winston, I would quit being a Jets fan. He is between RGI and Geno, both of whom SUCK and were busts.
I completely agree. The only way I see him becoming available is if the Cowboys have another collapse at the end of the season
