I don't know if Tebow would have been any better because Rex didn't give him a chance. Hell, even in the wildcat they didn't let him throw. And the punt team shit was just Rex thumbing his nose at the FO. We do need a reboot because staying with the same cast is going to go nowhere. No discipline ie... Willie Colon. It is time for a change. Rex can't manage the clock or the offensive side of the ball. He tried and he failed, no shame in that.

I think Dan Quinn would be a good hire. A Jersey guy with a good background. He seems to be smart enough to realize that a head coach cannot confine himself to one side of the ball and be effective. I don't know what Francesa knows but this would be a good move for the Jets.

People don't grasp the concept of how good a coach Rex actually is,He has a very flawed team and had us in every game until the bottom fell out vs Chargers.I hope he gets another job as a head coach and gets a real QB for once so I can tell you I told ya so.Its a shame it really is,this orginization sets up everyone to fail from the coach to the qb and on down the line,Rex can win with a decent QB something we haven't had since we ruined Sanchezs carrer in year 3

I'm not a fan of this because then we are gonna be rebuilding all over again and he will get a mulligan for a shitty year ,I hope Rex can turn it around so we don't have to go through another rebuilding period

ANY COACH can win with a stacked roster so we can stop with the Rexcuses. Now if you win with a flawed roster, that's something to hang your hat on.

That's not true,we see coaches with stacked rosters fail all the time, look at Jim Schawrtz and the lions,Marvin Lewis,The Texans old coaches,Mike Singletary,Andy Reid,.I said a qb not a stacked roster every good teams roster is stacked anyway.Every good team has a good QB and weapons on offense,we have neither. We have a garbage QB with no help around him

Andy Reid teams never imploded like this. Andy Reid took the Chiefs to 14-2 after a dismal season before with the same personnel. All Rex needs is a Qb huh? If you say so but I think Rex needs to take a long look at why his teams are always so undisciplined and unbalanced. He also needs to look at why he can't develop young offensive talent including Qb's. So far, Rex is becoming a young Qb destroyer instead of developer. He's a DC and there's nothing wrong with that. He's just not a HC for this era of football.

I should open up a RA chapter.. (Rexaholics Anonymous ).

Rex has been waffling about his definition of what a head coach does. First he coaches the defense and let's someone else make decisions on O and when it doesn't work out he apologizes to the fans and says he'll coach the entire team. Then he changes course again when he hires Marty and again gives over the O to him and Lee, etc. and basically operates as a glorified D coordinator. You just can't always blame this on the quarterback. And the GM. Neither of whom has done a good job, either.

Nothing. I want Rex Ryan to SAY nothing (it would be a welcome change), and just get a team ready to play football. You don't hear Bellichek/John Fox crowing all summer "we're going to be a dangerous team", "watch out for us", "Mark gives us the best chance to win," "Clyde (Gates) is ALL THE WAY BACK!" (To what? He always stunk in my opinion). "Garrett (McIntrye) is the most underrated linebacker in the league" (which is why he got cut the next year).

With a change at Head Coach there doesn' t have to be a rebuilding. A new coach can look at the squad with new eyes and see what needs to be done in the short term. Rex has been the story. A new coach can take a step back and let the players be the story. Hope for the best. Coaches came and go. Weeb, Michaels, Joe Walton etc. Never fall in love with a coach. Good players make a good coach. Ask any coach and he will admit it.

He makes some poor decisions at times but to act like he's a bottom 5 coach is irresponsible. You don't have to be a Rex lover to appreciate the fact that he beat both Brady and Manning in the same postseason.

Just step back from your agenda that he's a terrible head coach in this league and realize that coaches lose their juice as rosters turn over sometimes. The team has been in full out rebuild mode and he's accustomed to working with veteran rosters. Assuming we stay on the same path this year his time has simply run out in New York as teams have figured him out to an extent. There's not a lot of coaches that will ever stick with a franchise after such lack of success when the roster has crumbled with talent over the past 3 years.

He'll most likely get another chance if not immediately after this year. But to act like he hasn't been a pretty good coach is preposterous.

his talent evaluation abilities is separate from whether his strategy was to create cap flexibility and then use that flexibility to sign specific players, not merely use it to sign whatever player was available the immediate season the cap space is available.

obviously his talent evaluation would effect whether he would spend it on the right players, but that isn't an element I was discussing. Only thing I am discussing is whether he succeeded in one aspect of his strategy -- create cap flexibility. the answer is clearly a resounding yes.

Rex could have done a great job that postseason and be a bottom 5 coach this year. Just like a player could be a top 5 player one year and bottom 5 player years later. there is no rule that says coaching great at one time means you will always be a great coach.

Why would Quinn or Bevell want to leave a potential repeat SB championship team midseason to come to our shitshow?

Because coordinators don't turn down head coaching jobs unless there retarted, that's the point of being a coordinator
