I've been saying that on Talbot since last year but in the preseason he's been shaky at times. We'll see if he can be shutdown again in the regular season Staal has been on the decline, I'm all for a trade but we need to get some D back in return, I don't see how that deal could work for us
I'm all for getting rid of Staal, and I even think we have his future replacement in Skjei, but trading him in the middle of the season will put a dent in our hopes to win the cup. I thought Staal needed to be traded in the offseason, so Slats could find a replacement until Skjei is ready.
Trading him in the middle of the season will maximize the return you get on him. Now, imagine the return if you bundle him with Talbot.
we're heading down the road of heavy on offense and thin on defense. We need to stock up on D, and you're not going to get that by unloading D
With the youth we will be throwing out there this year...cant remember a beginning of the season for the NYR's where I have that much excitement to follow some of these kids. Sather hater here and wondering if he might finally pulled some rabbits from a hat. Truly cant wait to see how this unfolds. And lets just put it out there right now baby...this team is heading back to the Stanley Cup finals. Lose 5 in a row and I will be on here killing them but regardless...this team is going back to the finals..no doubt about it. Another year of A.V. at the helm, one of these kids will finally let us get the feeling that so many other teams have had...and we have never experienced....filling the net quite often. AND KREIDER WILL BE HUGE THIS YEAR. Live and die by that....this is the year this kid explodes. Go ahead and fire away but there is no doubt in my mind that it all comes together for this kid.
Jay - you should know that the guy pulling the strings these days is Jeff Gorton. He made all the decisions when Slats was in for prostate cancer and he's been getting more and more of his trust. Gorton is the guy who picked out Duclair in the draft among others and he's the guy proposing trades to Sather. Sather is just waiting for one more cup to retire
I post anything I find on hfboards or twitter, this should be the lineup: Kreider-MSL-Nash Hagelin-Brass-Zucc Duke-Miller-Stempniak Glass-DMoore-Fast; McD-Girardi Staal-Boyle JMoore-Klein Hank
Thanks. I don't like Dulair on the 3rd line tho. I would do Kreider-MSL-Zuccarello Duclair-Brassard-Nash Hagelin-Miller-Stemp Glass-Moore-Fast I think Duclair looked good with Nash in the preseason
“@rangersreport: No NHL team has ever had three players wearing numbers 61, 62, and 63 in the lineup at the same time for a regular season game #NYR will.”
