This is very likely, I mean they really, really love to trash the Jets. When other teams are bad it's "well they're pretty bad, and kind of embarrassing." With the Jets it's "The locker room is spiraling out of control! The GM doesn't know what he's doing! The QB can't stand the pressure!"

so why would geno try to get back in time for the meeting then? sounds like rex trying to protect the guy that is getting him fired to me.

I don't really understand what you're saying, I mean if it was a 10 minute meeting and because he was out at a movie or whatever he was doing he glanced at his watch and it said 7:40, and in his head he's thinking I've got an hour and 20 minutes to get there, and then 10 minutes later he's like oh shit I actually only had 20 minutes to get there I better hurry an try to make it. Then it takes him 20 minutes to get there, so he misses the 10 minute meeting just barely.

If you've never been to the west coast and you're preoccupied, it might take you a minute to remember that it's 3 hours behind instead of 4, and if you glance at your watch instead of pulling out your phone, it could be a pretty easy mistake to make.

I'm not saying that's how it happened, but isn't it pretty easy to see that as reasonable?

what I'm saying is that Rex is probably full of shit as usual.

I've never been to the west coat but I have traveled to a different time zone on a business trip. I was pretty paranoid about making sure I always had the correct time and didn't do much more than business while I was there. If Rex was my boss I'm sure things would have been different.

Oh quit your bitchin'. We've had a pretty good run with Rex. There have been big highs and deep lows, but if Rex is gone after this year he'll still be one of the best head coaches we've ever had. He's my favorite without a doubt.

Who's better? Herm? Mangini? Kotite? Parcels was great but he quit after 3 years, and other than that we've had 1 and doners in Carrol and Groh in the past 20 years.

We had it good with Rex, an here's hoping he's got a little more time.

I mean shit, look at the Browns. Failed with Belichick, Chris Palmer, Butch Davis, Terry Robiskie, Romeo Crenell, Eric Mangini, Pat Shurmur, Rob Chudzinski... They haven't had a head coach with a winning record since Marty Schottenheimer, let alone a winning playoff record and multiple AFC Champ games.

Be all pissed off and delusional if you want, but I'll be sorry to see Rex go for one.

I feel you....but i honestly dont know what to think of the status of the team now or in the future. IDK how long it's gonna take them to get rex a legit offense, or IF they are going to get him one. What if we don't finally get a good offense til 2016?? Do we risk another two years of maybe no playoffs? Or even if we were to get a new coach, are we just gonna suddenly start pulling the trigger on REAL play makers and studs around the league?... that would be pretty damn stupid and petty if that were to happen that way. If u ask me we gotta get rid of idzik. He put us in a great cap situation, thanks... now bye. Time to develop a real football team. Rex has shown with a good offense what he can do. Ever since the offense depleted, so has our success. I mean really it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out. Now with all this money and probably a good pick on the way we can build this franchise correctly. Idzik doesn't realize that we haven't been to the playoffs in 3 years about to be 4... nobody has the patience for his little 10 year plan to get good... 10 years from now. At idziks rate by the time he does build a solid team our good players that are young now will be old and ready to retire, Woody Johnson will probably be dead and gone and my hairline will be LeBroning.

Lol Idzik has had 1 cap strapped offseason and 2 drafts, so I say just chill and see what he does. He hasn't even had a season and a half of football as our GM, only in NY are people already up in arms that fast.

I understand the idea of giving Idzik extra time to experiment with the cap, but there is no excuse for this draft at all.

Most Jets fans knew the better players coming out. I don't even pay much attention to college football and I knew that Cooks and Matthews would be instant contributors. I actually wanted Fuller days before the draft.

I'm not an expert, not even a buff anymore, but I would have gotten them right.

We took a safety, which I thought was smart, and a TE who can catch, which I thought was smart.

But neither of those spots were immediate contributors.

Maybe Pryor and Amaro turn out to be big time contributors, but neither immediately helps the biggest weakness on the team, which is QB, or the other, which is secondary.

Both were raw players that will take a year to get it together, maybe it works out, but at what cost?

    Coaches and General Manager?

I understand but the way he operates is just annoying. Like for instance the Emmanuel Sanders situation, he expressed interest in him... and bullshitted the interview to go to some college and scout? Are you serious? do you not trust your scouts to bring back good reports or film?
DRC, we all know damn well he should be in green & white right now. He expressed interest in playing for a Rex Ryan defense.. and what do ya do? low ball em.. let him visit the Giants under the same roof, and sign there. To make matter worse he tried again at the last minute to get him, basically showing he knows he F'd up.
Didnt Sidney Rice visit? why did he announce he was going back to Seattle as soon as he left the jets facility?? I know he retired but i doubt he would have had he just signed here.
Hell it even took him 2 days and a dinner date to get Eric Decker to come here.. Like why is he having trouble pursuing guys to sign with us?

I think you're just looking at facts with an angry perspective. I don't think he's having a hard time signing guys, of course he had to wine and dine Decker, Decker was the best WR FA, and Decker has the leverage to take his sweet time. I also don't want DRC, especially for what the Giants paid, he has been very up and down so far. Not to mention he has shown he is barely vested in the game of football. I didn't want DRC at the time, and I can find the posts to prove that. I also didn't want to throw a long term contract at Sanders, he's a good player but you don't throw big FA long term contracts to multiple players at the same position in one offseason. You just don't. Only shitty run teams like Washington does that, and everyone knows Washington is one of the worst run teams in the league. I would have really liked to get Maclin on a 1 year prove it deal, but I'm willing to bet he specifically wanted to put up big numbers in Chip Kelly's system to get that big payday.

I'm telling you if Decker and Milliner had been healthy all year people would not be flipping shit like this. Shit happens. He's not as bad as everyone keeps saying.

Understandable, i see why some would be skeptical about DRC, but he's still better than what we have. My thing is if your not going to go with the top tier players, at least sign mid-level talent, and actually KEEP them on the team. We didn't even give Jacoby Ford a chance, probably woulda worked out better than Dave Nelson. Saunders barely got a shot on offense, these are players that can make some what of a difference, we don't have enough depth or talent to be so damn picky. We basically have the same offense and defense right now as last year maybe worse due to a lack of depth. There's nobody else we can blame for that but Idzik. I know he can't control injuries but man... you gotta bulk the roster up a bit better...and leaving the offseason with a ton of cap space isn't helping the situation. We look kinda dumb with all that cap space and all those weaknesses on the field.

I'm sure he thought he was doing just that (getting mid level guys to flesh out the roster) when he signed Patterson. Even most media members agree that there was no way anybody could have expected the Patterson to do what he did, and personally I'm glad he didn't let that shit fly and cut Patterson.

“Well, see the times — we always get the schedule,” Smith said. “We get emails and all that stuff. Mainly, I just counted down instead of counting up and got the times mixed up, so I guess you could say I was on West Coast time, thinking I was on West Coast time when — I mean thinking I was on East Coast time when we were actually on West Coast time so that was just my mishap. It really had nothing to do with the time zones.”
I lol'd so hard at this. The truth will come out one day. I just hope it's nothing too damaging.

It would have been better if he talked about taking his shoes off.
