    Another defensive guy.

Hopefully he has a clue about how to run an offense if thats actually who Idzik is targeting.

I feel bad, I like Rex a lot but this just feels inevitable. I don't think he's dodging this one.

It's been on the front page of this forum since the season started.

You posted in it a week ago.

Rex is far from a goner and Francesa is basically just posting internet rumors tying a former Sea guy w/ a current one(and former Jet ass't/local guy).

I've heard both these sides often that hes to good of a coach to let go ect. But Rex not being fired after another bad season seems out of the question.

I don't want him fired but Woody along with others in the Jets organization seem to. (According to rumors... Yeah I know)

Its going to be the Seattle OC or DC, nothing surprising honestly.

    Bevell:
Has worked with Favre twice, Rodgers, Wilson. Maybe the anti-schotty?

Well they'll be waiting most likely until February to get him on the dotted line since Seattle figures to be going deep again in the playoffs.

If they really want Quinn, their best hope is Seattle gets a 1st round BYE and can get then interview Quinn or Bevell on the BYE week.

Quinn was also a defensive line coach for the Jets back in 2007-2008. It does mention Dan Quinn is a creative mind, but so was Rex to an extent. Quinn has actually been a DC for only 2 seasons. Sounds like a lot of inexperience there.

I think Rex is a good coach as well. But I agree, I don't see him surviving another season where he doesn't make the playoffs.

Although one could argue that he hasn't been given enough weapons to work with. Team does still seem pretty undisciplined in certain areas and his offenses are always poor minus 2010. The team has degraded so much over the years, especially on the offensive side of the ball.

For all you "Rex is a good coach" guys, let me quote Mr. Ryan from the papers this morning:

"The Jets haven't played their best football yet. Going forward, you are going to see our best football"

Um, Coach Ryan? Why wasn't the team ready to play its best football FROM THE FIRST GAME OF THE SEASON? This is your sixth season as head coach, right? Why do we have to wait 5 games for the team to play ball?

    The man is a joke.

    The man's not a joke.

They haven't played their best football yet. What's he saying thats incorrect there? If he said something like "we haven't tried to play our best football yet" then I can understand your point. The team came out of the gates extremely sloppy and it's probably going to cost them this season and cost Rex his job. And to be fair, it probably should. But whats the problem with what he said there?

^I don't "want" him to say anything - I want him to explain the stupid things he does say. Or better yet, not say anything and somehow learn how to become an NFL headcoach. And he'd better learn quickly.

You understand that he has to do these things called press conferences right? And that he has to answer questions that are asked by the media?

He said the team hasn't played it's best football yet. Hopefully, thats a correct statement on his behalf and the team plays better. I just don't see the problem here.

    "Were moving onto Denver"

Rex needs to keep his mouth shut, but I bet it's cause the schedule is getting easier after these 2 weeks. Don't let your mouth write a check that your ass can't cash

Rex is pretty embarrassing in pressers. Every week he talks about how great their practices are and that they have an excellent game plan prepared. This week Demario Davis trashes the way they practice and Rex says their game plan was not good.

There's something to be said for having a shred of humility. Rex has none.

    Yup.

And did you see Rex apparently approached Davis about his comments. Thought they were false.

I tend to believe the player on this one lol
