Yup. Years of shitty drafting have led us here

actually, i should rephrase what I said, i meant that in the opposite context. the pay shouldn't matter, because even if he's paid a low level deal like vick, it won't mean much if he's on the IR.

I don't think we're on the same page.

We need weapons and give Geno a chance. Tell me one good/great QB who doesn't have good/great WR's?

the rams release bradford, Smith has a mediocre year, are you all prepared to claim him as your savior at QB? because I think he just gets hurt again. It was a concern with Vick, but thats DOUBLED with Bradford.

it might be Garrard all over again.

No Bradford does make it to preseason unlike Garrard.

thats supposed to be the case this year. he does well with a healthy decker the rest of the year, moves the offense on a consistent basis when things are going right with his weapons, and that gives the "Smith needs weapons" angle credence.

even still, we should probably look at more QB options, if available. barring the greatest comeback in NFL history i don't think Smith will have earned the right to be this teams only answer at QB. I'm not giving up on Smith, and I'm the guy that made the thread about QB not being the only problem, but these kind of discussions are relevant till we KNOW who our guy is.

The only reason Id take a chance on him is cause when healthy he is productive. Cant really say that about many of the other options out there. Yeah it comes down to me wanting an injury prone QB over an unproven one.

Tons of downside but going after Bradford might be the most attractive option. We have the $$ for it. Just gotta put a heavy duty o-line in front of him.

    Bradford, Demarius, Gurley?

Lmao.. my exact thoughts.. im personally not a fan at all of bradford but i'd be a fool to rather have any of our guys instead of him. I really don't care who it is anymore i just want somebody that knows the art of getting the offense over the pylon

$12 million is a lot for a guy who's missed two entire seasons and part of a third with injuries. Why not wait until 2016 and get him for a lot less.

It's a bad scenario based on making a bad deal.

In order to achieve "sustainable success" players must be available. This seems have eluded a lot of the players that Idzik has brougt in.

Guys hurt a lot but when healthy he's pretty good.

Pennington 2.0? I'll take him, why not.

Give Geno a chance to what? see if he can throw pick 6's against every team in the league? They guy is a dud. $1mm arm, 2 cent head, can't even tell time.

Because taking him in 2015,assuming we could, is a waste. If he gets hurt then what? Our oline isn't playing at a level where they could protect him enough. Build the offense and secondary through the draft and free agency in 2015, draft a 1st round QB in 2016 and get Bradford as a FA in 2016 for a lot less than $12 million.

I don't see why anyone would even want to consider this, the guy has missed 2 full seasons with the same injury to his knee. No thanks. Especially if we'd have to trade something, that's just dumb.

You'd rather roll with Geno Smith next season? I'm not all that interested. Bradford for 1 season? I'll take it, he's played well despite having Schottenheimer as his OC, worth a try. Unless you want to continue this tank party for another year?

theres no way the jets should or will trade for this guy… that too much money.

Wait till he gets released to sign him to a one or two year deal worth no more than 4-7 mil, and play things by ear.

and really, those of you who want an alternative to Smith, realize theres a good shot he gets playing time if (when?) Bradford goes down.

edit: who would we trade him for anyway? certainly not a draft pick, god that would be an awful move...
