It seems the next HC will have between $145-$150M in cap to spend and a high draft pick, to work some New York magic, but can we actually get Marcus Mariota?
I was skeptic of him last year, but these numbers are incredible:
2014 Stats: 91 Completions for 1,411 yards and 71.1% Completions Rate. He has unmissed 15TDs with NO INTs so far.

Not quite a Suck for Luck, but he is far better than what we have. Hell, I would even take a flier on Oregon State quarterback Sean Mannion next year in the 3rd or 4th round than stick with Smith and Vick.

As bad as they looked Sunday I just dont see them being that bad throughout the year which is what they're going to have to do in order to get the top pick.

They look like a 6-10 or 5-11 type of team right now. That's not going to be bad enough.

We don't have to be the worst since the Raiders and Jacksonville drafted their QB of the future this year.

Someone coined a nice one the other day, "Don't win an Iota for Mariota".

I'd rather have Amari Cooper then Mariota.

No QBs this draft. Bring in a Vet like Matt Moore or if Sam Bradford is available and healthy grab him.

Yes, we need a QB - I'm not sold on Mariota right now as an NFL QB. He has amazing physical gifts. I would rather have Cooper and grab a vet QB for 2015.

    - Doesn't run a pro-style offense (Lack of snaps under center)
    - Offense is based on initial reads, doesn't go through progressions.
    - Experience reading defenses.

I'd rather have a QB that has the experiences listed above. IDK about this guy. He does wow you, but I'm skeptical.

Agreed! Worst case is you eventually end up with more than one capable starter.

Mariota is overrated and needs a lot of work.....I'll Pass.

The QB crop at the top this year is mediocre at best.

Amari Cooper is the best offensive talent in this draft next to Gurley.

Oregon lost their entire offense line to injuries this season. They couldn't stop Washington. States defensive line. There won't be anything left of Mariota by the end of the season.

100% agree with this... I'd love Cooper.. I mean, yeah, I've said I would like Mariota and he would be better than Either of the jackasses we have, but I'm with this. I think Matt Moore and or Sam Bradford would be good in our system next season..

Sammie Coates has the best size/speed and would be available when we pick in the 4-8 range. Raider, Rams and Jacksonville will be the three worst teams and the Rams would select Mariota.

    QB >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> WR

If there is any realistic chance that a QB can be a franchise QB, it's always better to take that risk rather than pick a WR, even a really good one. Look at Superbowl winners, last one to win without a franchise QB is probably Tampa Bay in 2002, and they had an all-time great defense to compensate. Same thing with Trent Dilfer in Baltimore in 2000, another all-time great D. Other than those 2 guys, every team in modern era that won the superbowl had a franchise QB.

WRs, on the other hand, bring much less to the team. Calvin Johnson has been to the playoffs once, going 0-1. AJ Green, Andre Johnson, Brandon Marshall, all of these elite WRs either dont make the playoffs or get bounced early.

And to those of you saying lets bring in a veteran QB, this is why we can never win the big one. Cause we keep using these bandaids. I'd rather suck for a few years and take chances on high pick QBs.
