Understanding context on the internet and predicting the future.

    Hmmm, that about seems right.

I'm not a mind reader unlike you Carnac so of course I'm going to take what someone writes at face value. I'll leave the mystical interpretations up to you.

On the other hand, when you are a Jets fan in Portugal, you have the opportunity to pick up the local Burger King franchises for relatively small escudos. So it all balances out.

Before we go to the scorecards, let's review:

JetsNation06 called Mangolden Showers et al: "Dumbass, Jerkoff, Ball Sac Fucktard, Internet faggot piece of shit."

MangoldenShowers called JetsNation06: "Fuckface and faggot."

    Judges? _______________

I think you are missing the context here.

But what did we really mean to say, Carnac?

So wait, you ARE a mind reader?

Shouldn't that be "I'm not a mind reader LIKE you Carnac" or "I'm not a mind reader, [comma] unlike you Carnac", but wouldn't it be proper to say "Unlike you, I am not a mind reader"?

Those double negatives can foul up even the most skilled of writers, but I THINK I know what you meant to say but it isn't what you ACTUALLY said.

    See how that works?

Why the capitalization of "ARE" and "THINK" and "ACTUALLY?? Surely you realize the errors of your grammatical ways.

Double negatives nearly almost killed Einstein.

    Fact.

back on-topic (sort of): all this over a comma in a Letterman thread?

check out the swirly little tuft of hair on the top of Dave's forehead - there's your comma. Or as madcap Dave himself would say:

"hey look kids, it's punctuation boy!"

Somebody else missed a comma whilst calling out someone else for missing a comma.

    Oh, the ironing.

Using all caps is a perfectly acceptable grammatical use for demonstrating emphasis.

Answer the question. Are you or are you not a mind reader?

Because what you meant isn't what you wrote.

And you're the self-proclaimed writing expert.

Actually, with or without a comma it's still correct. But you already knew that, I think.

Surely you know if I'm a mind reader Carnac. No comma there. See that. It worked just fine.

I do believe you missed a comma whilst calling out someone else for missing a comma.

    Sounds hypocritical.
