Whether it is striking while the iron is hot or not is irrelevant--what is IMPORTANT was that the QB of our team, our leader, the face of the franchise was watching Gone Girl when he should have been at the team meeting the night before the game. The writers write the stories that the teams give them (unless they are making shit up). Damion Harrison going to see The Equalizer is not a story. The quarterback missing the team meeting is. _
Well, he lost part of a paycheck last week and will probably lose a part this week, so it's safe to say he won't curse you out. He may post an insulting gif though. _
I actually want to know who else was with Geno and if there were veterans, I would be pretty mad given they are suppose to be viewed as leaders too. If its not Geno alone, I would hope these reporters would come out with the full details so its not just one guy again taking the blunt for everything. Geno's a punching bag and he does put himself in these spots with stuff like this and his turnovers that are backbreakers but I also want to hold other guys accountable for. I remember Manish giving Rex hell for putting his backup QB(Sanchez) in with the backups vs backups when Sanchez got hurt and trying to ride that. You underestimate the beat reporters powers my man. Costello got mad at Idzik for not giving him anything to writeup about leading to the NFL draft this year, that was hilarious.
Forget him missing the meeting. WTF is he doing at a movie anyway? I'm doubtful that Manning/Rodgers/Brady go to the movies the night before a game, unless you count film study the movies.
I bet you those guys DO go to the movies the night before the game. You put work in all week and the night before you relax. Get on Geno Smith for missing the meeting and for sucking balls in general but not something silly like going to a movie. NFL players are human beings not robots, even successful ones.
Missing the team meeting for a movie? he needs to be benched for a few games just to make the point to him that this is the NFL and if you don't apply yourself 100% NFL stands for Not For Long.
No, I'm just not naive. They got the story right. If there were other players with him--veterans or rooks-- those guys will be fined and reprimanded by the team. They aren't the story, not what's important. _
LOL. I understand they are human, but the NFL is a grind for about 26 out of 52 weeks. You need to dedicate yourself to it entirely for the season. If you aren't going to do that, you are not going to be a great. You are going to play like Geno did yesterday. The movie will be there in the offseason.
according to the NYPOST, the meeting schedule had 8pm written as the time of the meeting. EXCEPT it was 8PM EST, the meeting was actually at 5pm west coast time. Sounds dumb I know, but apparently most of the rest of the team was able to figure it out. http://nypost.com/2014/10/06/jets-rewind-missed-meeting-least-of-worries-over-geno-smith/
of course we still get killed but that's not the point. Rex and his QB NEED to be on the same page. Mike Tomlin knows, Im sure, the second Roethlisberger rapes some....the very second! And Im sure Belichik knows every time TB gets his asshole poked by some masshole he meets at Moe's tavern....coughlin knows every time Eli gets lost in his own closet etc....Rex and all of his QBs are always like two passing ships in the retard sea
Rex should stop being a twat and call a few players out once in a while. If Geno is playing like shit, why doesn't he call him out in the media? Call out some veterans on the team. Why can't he do that? 4 game losing streak and he probably praised them
