I want to see Powell. Ivory should be running with a fullback. We should be running I formation and split-I and rolling out pa bootleg
Our offensive line is bottom 5 in pass blocking. There is no doubt! It doesn't matter who is at the Qb position for this team, we will not be able to move the ball. Winters especially, Colon 2nd. Until our line is fixed, we might as well get use to not scoring points, like today. Look for our run game to fizzle out by years end. It looks as though teams have us figured out on offense, and Marty has no answers. Our Wr corp is bottom 5 in the league, even with decker. He and Kerley are the best we have, and neither of them are top 25 in the league. Our Te's are really no-names but show promise, and would definitely work for Manning or Rodgers. Our backs would be much better if we had an O-line that could pass block and keep the defense honest. Our Qb's looked terrible today due to San Diego's defensive front beating the shit out of our sorry line. Neither Vick or Geno need much help to screw up, but again, it's hard to do anything with defenders in your face the whole time. I'm not saying every single play, but the majority of plays our line has a weak link of some kind on most plays. Penalties, lack of positioning, terrible block technique, etc... It's something most every play. We have a ton of things wrong with our team on both sides of the ball. Most of our offensive problems stem from our line play. If we don't fix it, it doesn't matter who we have at Qb, backs, or receivers. I've been saying our line stinks for a long time now. Each year it's been ignored, or had a shitty band aid placed on the weak link. Each year, our offense is offensive to say the least. I hate to take up for Nacho, but the problem goes back to 2011. As Mangold and Brick have aged, it's gotten worse. It's getting worse. We either need to spend a bunch in free agency, ( if anyone is out there worth having) or draft a couple studs. None of this post pertains to the issues on defense. Our problems there aren't on the line, it's our backs and secondary that hurt us there.
Anyone blaming Geno is absolutely clueless. Vick came into the game and did nothing except prove my point that our lack of talent at the wr position is the reason our offense is terrible. Anyone blaming Vick's performance on his lack of reps gtfo. Heck Montana couldn't lead this team. our wrs are just not talented. idzik idzik idzik you effing fool.
somehow last couple games kerley has been completley shut down on 3rd downs, he really saved us last year in those situations. mm has to call his number, starting to wonder if theres an injury bothering him
Oline is the biggest problem. With better protection and better decision making by the QB we could get by with what we have.
This seems so fucking simple. It's just common sense. Our best RB is a power runner, so he should play out of the I- and have a lead blocker. We have a strong core of RBs so should be a running team so should run the play action. Either Marty hasn't gotten to that page in the playbook or Geno is totally incapable of playing under center and/or running the play action. Powell is the 2nd best RB, can run inside and outside, can catch and block- all fairly well. He should be the backup. CJ should be the change of pace back used after the D has softened up. Someone mentioned using him as a slot receiver too.
Our defense sacked Rivers more than the Chargers sacked the combination of Geno and Vick and we hit Rivers just as many times as they hit our QBs, yet somehow their QB and WRs were able to combine for nearly 300 passing yards and 3 TDs.
Why mock me? It's true. You need an O line to get the ball to your WR dude. QBs didnt help but neither did the O line
Even with a weak (very) O-line, Geno shouldn't have to run back 37 steps. Why doesn't MM run 2-3 step stop plays for 4-6 yards. That would give Geno some confidence and move the ball. I don't remember a Jet game since 68 when we never crossed the 50 yard line. Piss poor for the whole O coaching staff and players.
Our d-line is a hell of alot better than SD's, and our Qb's are a ton more mobile than Rivers. Our o-line killed us today. Our WR's or Qbs didn't have time to hook up. Rivers beat our linebackers and poor secondary. To top it off, our D was on the field for like 40 minutes or something of the 60 possible.
You can't block Geno or Vick and they arent that good to being with. If you can't block, you can't win dude. Your QBs couldn't get 2 seconds to throw
3 to 2? Big difference. Rivers had more time in the pocket than our QB's. His oline was able to pick up the blitz to give Rivers time to get rid of the ball quickly. Our QB's hardly had time to set their feet to make throws.
We play that way because our line couldn't keep them off of any Qb, if he started a 3-5-7 step drop from under center. Vick was rusty. Maybe he won't be any better by seasons end if he plays out. Geno is not ready to lead this team, we can all see that. Our line has sucked for a couple years now, but it's really getting ridiculous now.
Jets 3 sacks 5 QB hits Chargers 2 sacks 5 QB hits The difference is that Rivers and his WRs burned our defense when we blitzed while our QBs and WRs combination could not. Rivers is a fucking statue back there but he has the intelligence, pocket awareness and weapons to make plays in the midst of pressure. To blame this loss on the o-line is weak.
Youre blind man. Your whole fanbase is saying the O line sucked but you disagree. Open up your eyes next game and realize that Geno can't get 2 seconds to make a throw, even tho he would probably fuck up anyway. And Von Miller and Demarcus Ware will be rushing? Fuck
You are missing it legler. I usually agree with you on a lot of topics. Our O-line isn't half the line that San Diego has in the area of pass blocking. You realize our d-line is badass, right? Their o-line seemed to do a great job considering the opponent. Our line doesn't give up the sacks because our Qb's move, they seldom ever stay in the pocket. The reason they don't is because there usually isn't one to step into. If we have the same line next year that we have now, Peyton Manning would put up numbers like Geno. I agree that our wideouts are not top 50 quality. And it appears that way about our last 3 Qb's. who knows what we have? We won't ever know, because our line sucks. Getting worse each week. Just like last year. And the last year of Nacho's tenure. Worse now than they were then, by a large measure. Worse now, than in game one of this season.
