i'll never win this argument because you guys are so quick to judge draft picks and that's honestly the problem. it's comical that you expect solid play from day 1 with rookies, that's just not going to happen

God, it's depressing knowing that the season is over at week 5.

4th round pick is not a late round pick!

Five steps to a more successful team. (We can Hope!)

    1. Fire John Idzik!
    2. Hire a GM with football background. No bean counters this time! Preferred one with pro scouting experience.
    3. Fire every coach and scout!
    4. Let new GM have free will to hire and draft anyone he wants.
    5. Let the new GM spend every penny of the cap to get some proven players, who aren't over the hill.

    or

Bring back Bill Parcells as HC, (now that he is in the HOF) and let him buy his own groceries.

    or

    Bring in Chucky!

Which is why you need to hit on 4th and 5th rounders, even if they are special teamers. Late 3rd rounders like John Brown are contributing, the Packers have a 5th round starting Center contributing, the SB MVP last year was a late 7th rounder. Early 4th round picks are nothing to sneeze at, you are expected to get something out of them and they sure as hell should be sticking on the roster year 1. That was the 1st pick of Day 3, a day we had NINE draft picks and not one of those picks are even on the activated roster outside of Reilly, a special teamer and 7th rounder. That's inexcusable.

We traded Revis for that 4th round pick(Or 3rd round pick either way), this was sold to the fans along with Sheldon Richardson so cutting Jalen Saunders is disheartening. You are expected to get something out of those 4th rounders. Saunders made one mistake on a punt return, why hold him accountable for that with his job? How many other Jets this year have made mistakes and do not get punished but better yet, still start?

Should have gotten some O line help. Drafting a WR in round 4 to cut him is just terrible management

No but that doesn't excuse poor execution and dumb penalties. Also never having a real offense the entire time he's been a coach here.

The problem with this is Woody's too much of a fuckin pussy to pull the trigger and clean house the way it really needs to be cleaned.

Instead Woody will hire some dipshit consulting firm and some guy named Jed will tell him to hire another bean counter just like they did with Idzik. It's really pathetic.

Idzik should get his own coach and then its all fair game to judge. All fair game. He had a relatively decent year 1, year 2 looks like a disaster so he's on even ground with me.

Not impressed with him though, this year has really soured me on him.

I'm disappointed too, don't have to convince me. But it's week 5 in his 2nd year. There's too much we don't know.

So you want him to use his own judgement?

I want him to get a clue and hire a VP of football operations to run the whole franchise. I'd like this VPFO to hire a new HC, hire a scouting staff and make all football related decisions.

The jury is still out, however the offensive talent Idzik has brought in (besides Decker and Ivory) has been very underwhelming and downright crippling. If he doesn't lock up Wilk, kerley, snacks, and davis this off season to long term contracts with the vast amount of cap space, then it's time to get him out of there.

What the Jets should do is trade some older guys for some picks. Is David Harris a FA? If so, trade him
