So Smith's game was a wash, Vick couldn't provide much of anything either, yet I'm not certain that the problems with the jets O stem from their end… not ENTIRELY so, not even mostly so. WR's aren't getting open, penalties have killed many a drive and given the our QB's a poor hand, both QB's were pressured HEAVILY all damn day too, and the Coaches scheme is all over the place. Now, I ain't blind, I can see how a lack of the utmost faith in Smiths capabilities might be hindering the the ams overall effectiveness, and its not like I'm saying he's absolved of his issues. But lets not pretend like this is all Geno's fault. I'm not sure any QB ANYWHERE below exceptional levels would help this offense, not one of this years rookies, nobody except maybe the best of the best. (MAYBE) My only point being there are fundamental flaws coming from this offense preventing it from being efficient that go beyond the QB's control, and since Smith and Vick aren't great their struggles are more of a side effect of a greater problem than being the direct cause of those problems. We need to face the fact that there IS no easy scapegoat and our favorite team has issues across the board.
It starts with the oline. Its downright terrible. We've neglected it for years since we let Faneca go.....which he was struggling dont get me wrong. Problem is they never replaced him. Honestly get another good receiver and I like salas and Kerley as 3 and 4s but we need an oline first and foremost. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
No o-line, no TEs, no WRs. Yet the QB position is getting most of the crap for it. Maybe now that Vick has statistically proven to be worse than Geno people will stop blaming the wrong person. Never mind that we just destroyed Geno's career by pulling him out AND screwing ourselves by using an even worse QB. Now there's no hope.
Sorry but piss poor QB deflates a offense any day, not saying its our only problem but its one of the biggest
A good QB upgrades an average offense. A bad QB downgrades a decent offense. If this isnt clear by now it never will be.
the O-line was AWFUL today, not sure how much could have been done to mitigate that last offseason, though. I'm hoping Dozier and Aboushi can provide a spark at guard coming off the bench, and I'm already on record as saying I'd rather see a LT drafted in the first next year the anything else. we have it at one side of the trenches, lets fix the other.
move Dbrick inside… now theres an idea I hadn't considered. Maybe that can work next year, although he'd still be WAY overpaid fairy soon.
Some of the statistics were hilariously bad: 3rd down efficiency - 1/12 - 8% Avg gain per passing play - 1.8yds Penalties - 12 for 94yds
We have no weapons and our line is atrocious. All this was known in the offseason. This regime needs to be removed. Entirely.
100%. Aside from Karl Dunbar & the RB coach, -- the staff isnt worth a damn. D. Thurman is a clown from the Brazilian sideline reporter days. Philly O has gotten 10 times better since M. Morningwegg left.
Sanjay Lal is brutal. Was apart of the thinking of Stephen Hill over Reuben Randle and Alshon Jeffrey. Was mediocre in Oakland, and has stunk in New York.
