Saying that a GM or coach isn't invested in winning is the dumbest thing a human being can say.

Look, while I continue to support the premise that many of you have discussed over and over about the lack of weapons provided this off season in areas of need, I strongly disagree that Idzik failed in addressing the CB spot. In 2 years He brought in Milliner and MacDougle and that nutcase Patterson. The fact that two of them got hurt is not on his shoulders, and anyone that thinks it predictable and expected is simply not realistic. Patterson never displayed to most of our knowledge such irrational behavior so we got burned. Yet even with that our CB position is playing better than expected and it is not the weak link in the defense as much as LB speed and safety out of position.

Where I think we totally screwed things up was not addressing the WR position properly with a high draft choice, as well getting once and for all speed and sacks at the LB position. This team is getting beat over and over at the line offensively because of poor OL play and at the LB/safety position, where the middle of the field is our Achilles heal much more so than at CB.

Manish sucks, he is just writing BS to get attention, Idzik made an effort to make this team competitive while preparing for the future.

Its my opinion that with a better QB and HC who has a smarter football IQ than Rex, the jets are 2-2 or 3-1.

As far as Geno is concerned, who cares if he does not develope into a franchise QB, he was a second round pick that was falling like a stone and would have continued to fall if the jets had not given him a chance.

It's ok for the jets to move on from him and Rex at the end of the year.

Every HC in the nfl was an assistant HC at one time or another, let's not make it sound like there is no one else capable of coming into this situation with the talent this team has and possibly doing a better job

Do I want Rex and Eugene to fail? Absolutely not, but if this team wins 4 or 5 games, I have no problem with both of them being replaced.

This team IS improved from last years team, and it has shown on the field, what has killed this team is the qb play and the HC decisions that are made through out the game that become momentum changers.

The sports media sucks, I stopped paying attention to them years ago, there are a handful that actually do a good job of reporting.

  9. Personally I think Idzik has done a good job.People are looking way too much at the starting 22 & the final product.Yes those things matter..but Depth, cap management & stability matter just as much.

The starting 22 under Idzik has yielded 7 long term starters in a mere 2 years(Geno,Winters,Milliner,Richardson,Bohanon,Pryor & Amaro)That doesn't include Chris Ivory,CJ2k,Decker,,Colon & Landry who have all contributed positively. Now these young players that have had peaks & valleys..like all young players. It's just gonna take some time. Acouple may get hurt or not work out..but young talent is young talent..and the jets have plenty.

The depth is wholeheartedly better than it ever was under Tanny. We have strong back-ups along both the linees which could end up creating a couple more long term starters n guys like Dozier & Reilly.

Maybe Idzik is a miracle man..maybe he's not.I just don't understand this idea that the Jets are no better than they were before he came on board. The team is younger, deeper, more explosive, infinitely more financially stable w/ some major ammo heading into next season.

If you were expecting headline signings & this epic 12 pick draft to fix all that ails this team...you were gonna be disappointed. For one..very rarely do you see those types of turnarounds in one offseason regardless of the circumstances. But secondly that isn't how Idzik operates. He's gonna slowly & methodically build up this roster putting emphasis on depth, competition & financial stability. It won't be flashy..it will take time. But the finished product could be what we all have craved for many years...SUSTAINED success.

All this belly aching comes down to lack of patience...and the sector of Jets nation that still can't accept the RIGHT way to build a franchise rather than trying to catch lightning in a bottle. And if I hear one word about "This is New Yawk...you can't run things that way". Well I hope that isn't the truth..b/c if it is..we truly will always be mediocre. Idzik is trying to build this the right way...accept it for what it is

    2020.. Can't wait!

  11. I agree w/ this..however this is a problem that began far before Idzik ever arrived. The team either..

    A. Doesn't respect/value the contributions of a deep dynamic passing game
    B. Can't scout those guys for the life of them
    C. Scared of failure after picks like Santana Moss(Who was good but not 1st rounder good),Stephen Hill & ugh..now even Jalen Saunders.

Every single year we appear slow & limited at the skill position...yes the trenches are important..we've been good there. But when the chips are down, the game is close & a big play is needed..we have nobody who can carry the ball w/ any burst, break a tackle or make the acrobatic catch. It's painfully obvious. And what makes it even more agonizing is how often we seem to pay for this fact. We're constantly in these tight close games & always seem to fall victim to this reality. Why don't they learn? If you don't know how to pick skill players...figure out how.

Idzik loves to make mention of the 80's Jets he grew up watching his father coach. He says he models today's team after that era. Where's ??Wesley?Shuler?Humphry? We don't have anybody like that

Well said indeed....could not agree with you more. If the 2015 draft and or free agency fails to address the need for the offensive game breaker yet once again we will continue to fester in the middle of the pack. Idzik is smart enough to realize that. Geno might or might not be the long term answer, but he could do nothing but improve if we surround him with some real talent. Someone like Walker would be a God sent...
