Dalton has maybe the best WR in NFL to throw to. Kap any 3 top WR's would be be Jets #1 WR plus he also has Veron Davis at TE. Wilson I can agree with u.

The old weapons argument. Good QB's get it done. Ask Alex Smith about his WR's.

The lack of pateince? Why does this orginization require a 3 year waiting period to sign a decent corner. This orginization is being run into the ground all over again

You mean Bowe and Charles who plays with Alex? Name one jets offense player better then either one? Go ask Brady how it like to play without weapons.

Alex Smith is not a good example, he's got a solid WR in Bowe a lethal weapon in KC, and one of the best playcallers in Andy Reid.

It all starts with Woody. A fish rots from the head. He's happy with the lack of moves this off season. He said Ryan doesn't need to win to come back next year. He oozes complacency and acceptance of mediocrity.

It all is rather painfully obvious.

They count, but i thought this was a thread about patience. In which case I was saying we could move on even quicker than the 5 guys that you mentioned. In Seattle's case, they didnt let Flynn start a game (after paying him 7 mil). And in Carolina's case, I can't remember if they let Clausen start any games in his first year, but moved on from him after one year.

Wasn't Blaine Gabbert a first round pick?

Andy Dalton and Kapernick are certainly not sure things. Dalton is playing with the best WR in the league which makes his stats better than they really are. Just look at Bengals fans reactions when he got signed yo the new contract.

    Kaepernick is very average too.

You have to wait a few years to see what you have in a QB. Geno has shown improvement from this year to last year. Maybe he has it, maybe he doesn't, but you just have to suck it up and wait. Those are basically Bill Parcells words from yesterday on the Michael Kay show. So if you think you know more about football than Parcells, by all means continue to disagree with me.

Wouldn't it be nice for just once, have a Qb we draft actually be ready to play in the NFL w/o a 4year runway? Just once, couldn't we draft the best prospect at any particular position instead of always trying to find that diamond in the rough? How about doing our medical homework on a potential draft pick so we're not surprised if they get hurt early and often.

Just once, I'd like to see the Jets draft a Matt Ryan or a Andrew Luck or some truly special Qb talent. I doubt I live long enough to see that..

Man I wish Teddy Bridgewater was still on the board when we drafted.

Is that so the backup would be playing now?

The oline is probably even a bigger concern than the wr position or lack there of. Jailbreak up the middle of the line multiple times throughout a game. The guards are shit. Geno, is going to have to make some ppl start believing or he is going to get replaced quick

You do realize that the Jets will still draft defense in the first round no matter what the situation is. Its who we are and how we roll.

That's cool with me, I love defense. Our d is nasty and I don't give a shit what anyone says, you don't know football if you think otherwise. Qbs are getting destroyed by our team week in week out. The non holding calls are a joke, it's really laughable.

The oline is absolute shit though. Mangold and brick are the only good players on the line (and declining). Than colon (haha), the penalty machine after that, it falls off fast. We do need to address the o line badly and wr badly and maybe (only maybe for me, now. I still think Geno can get the job done and I actually think he may be slightly over coached haha) qb.

The reason why I think the qb is slightly over coached is that it's a young mans league. Old man Marty can't see and know the present moment of a play. Sanche only played football in college. Geno was given a football on his first birthday, it's evident, I can see the kid can ball. He needs to clean up some decsion making. The speed of the NFL is so much faster than college. Geno, can ball though, he just has to play on his own instinct and let the coaching help mentor/improve his game.

It's all Geno though, nobody can make it happen but him. He has it.

I just don't know if that shit oline and weak receiving corps combined with old man Marty play calling is good enough to keep this kid in a growth trajectory.

That's all well and good, but until this defense starts to produce points on the board, its all pretty stats with very little meaning in the win/loss column. You still need points to win games. One more point than the other team at a minimum. This offense is not producing points because it simply lacks enough talent to do this against the better defenses. Our OLine is aging, our Wr's are mediocre and our QB is a "work in progress" to be kind. Yards are meaningless as they only really beef up personal stats for contract negotiations. Points are the real measuring stick.

This team has to change course on draft day and recognize which unit needs the most help the quickest. That would be the offense for the near term. We'll see next draft day how things shake out. Knowing this team, they'll draft a DB or S in the first round.
